My test results are in and show NO CANCER. I have been worrying about it FOR MONTHS so excuse me if I take the day to enjoy this sunshine and staring happily into space and maybe drinking myself into a stupor.
I bathe in the hatred people have for my bookshelf organisation; by color.
Look I love it visually so you can keep your opinions about that to yourself.
And I've talked previously about how they are all entered into an app to make them easier to find.
The "this all could have been solved with one conversation" argument in Romance novels always cracks me up because having hard conversations is...HARD.
35+ years of marriage and the hubs and I still struggle with it!
@JenReadsRomance
I think I owned like 2 Barbies because my mother was a Barbie hater. I vividly remember my Growing Up Skipper doll though. You moved her arm and *boom* boobs! LOL
@ItsAndyRyan
My son once got home from school and asked if the "c" word was a bad word. "Well I'll let you say it this one time. Because it could be really bad or nothing." It was crap. "Hell no. That's not a bad word."
"What's the word you thought it was, mom?"
Truly. Romance novels have saved my life this year more than once. I've gotten to some really dark places but these stories have shown me the light. I will forever be grateful to all those who write these stories.
I can't emphasize enough how romance novels have carried me through this terrible time.
I've talked about the importance of having a "safe place" in my series.
Romancelandia, your books are my safe place. ❤️
Popping the corn.
Rule 1 of Romancelandia is books must have an HEA.
Rule 2 is don't fuck with The Nora Roberts. She'll personally explain the process to you.
I wish Alan Rickman were as well known for his exquisite, sensitive performance as Col. Brandon as he is for Hans Gruber, or Snape, or the husband in Love Actually. Because it is amazing and unexpected if you don't know any better about him.

Y'all! I bought the perfect map for my office!
The locations:
Brother's Best Friend Bay
Grumpy Next Door Neighbor
Mountain of Miscommunication
Bang It Out Barn
The Lamppost of Longing
Only One Bed Bungalow
Gah! I love it.
Ok, so he'd peel an orange for you. But would he bribe a ne'er-do-well rake into marrying your reckless little sister? Would he ride horseback through thunderstorms to bring your mother to your sickbed?? Would he give up the Avonlea school for you??? Don't settle, ladies
My visit to Chatsworth House, where parts of the 2005 version were filmed, was a highlight of my life. And I love my miniature Darcy bust SO MUCH.

Hear me out but what if instead of adapting toxic abusive relationships masquerading as romance novels written by racist antivaxxers, someone adapted the Kleypas Mutiverse?
Matthew Goode as Tom Severin, anyone?
Y'all this book is HAWT and I loved it but this cover makes it look like a couple of high schoolers.
I'm just the old woman on the porch screaming, "Stop catoonisizing everything!" This other illustrated one makes them at least look like grownups.

I’m at the airport going to LA and the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen just sat down on the floor next to me and not only has two books in his bag but he’s eating a whole ass steak burrito at 9am. Y’all I think I found my soulmate
Last night at the grocery store.
Hubs: I want to find a chocolate bunny (to give to our son and his wife).
Me: So you're telling me after years of not lifting one finger to help with Easter baskets, you suddenly need to get our 31 yo a chocolate Easter bunny?
Him: Yes???
One thing I wish I saw more on bookish social media: folks buying old and used books.
I love to see people hunting down vintage covers and first editions. We should try to celebrate the second R in reduce, reuse, recycle as much as we celebrate new covers with sprayed edges.
Surgery went well yesterday. It took about two hours and the surgeon didn't see anything obvious, so hopefully the pathology report is clear!
My throat hurts more from the breathing tube. I had a fair bit of nausea this go around. Boo.
Thanks for all your messages and support
I've had a horrible week post surgery but finding a first edition of Indigo by
@jenkins_beverly
and getting it in the mail today gave me a huge boost! I've been on the hunt for this one for a good long while and I'm so excited to add it to the bookshelves.
3 years ago, I met
@sarahmaclean
in person and she autographed my t-shirt like the rock star she is!
This year, I began working as her assistant & it's been one of the highlights of my year.
Happy birthday, Sarah! Here's hoping we can take a pic together soon!
So now I can brag about the first editions I nabbed last month of The Ravenel series by Lisa Kleypas. I already had Marrying Winterborne but none of the others.
They're so pretty all together. (My rug still makes a fun backdrop!)
My nephew today became the youngest person with Down syndrome to complete a triathlon! I am over the moon proud of him! Way to go, Caleb!!!

This is my laptop, which I take to work meetings.
Coworker: What does HEA stand for?
Me: Happily Ever After.
Him: Oh of course. You're truly into those romance novels, huh? (With zero judgement, mind you.)
Me: I am. I aggressively like what I like and what I like is love.
Not leaving the house today so of course my hair looks fantastic. So I'm sharing it with all my friends here because I know you'll appreciate it. My gray is coming in like I colored it this way on purpose.
Ope. Making Nora Roberts personally explain something to you is NOT what you want out of life.
The way I would just wander into the sea and never be heard from again....
34 years ago, these two younguns, who'd known each other barely a year, said I do.
Our marriage is a testament that you need the yin and yang in life. I'm crazy, he's calm. I'm loud, he's quiet. Opposites truly do attract!
Popular drugs used to suppress appetites such as Ozempic and Wegovy might be causing an economic impact at some large retailers who say that people are buying less food at the grocery store, impacting their bottom line.
@allieiswriting
The one where she laughs pulling up to the house with her aunt and uncle is pretty good too! Like, that was smart turning him down, Liz.
A truly horrible picture but what a lovely afternoon listening to and laughing with
@authorMsBev
. I could have sat there and listened to her for hours.
@lovessweetarrow
I showed my husband the bookshelf tweet and how much love it was getting and that man's chest expanded three times. It was like an early birthday gift for his day next week.
He does such great work and I'm happy *I* finally got to reap the reward from that. LOL
Just finished Captured by
@authorMsBev
and I'm really ready for pirate romances to make a comeback. Like pirates who hunt down slavers and break them in half.
Congrats to
@lovessweetarrow
on opening day! So great to have an all romance bookstore in the Chicagoland area!
My book group had a meetup there today and I can't wait to go to their author event next Saturday night.
So I am on a Rock Star Romance kick and open to recommendations!
I've OBVIOUSLY read Kristen Callihan's VIP series, Naili Singh's Rock Kiss and Lauren Dane's Hurley Boys.
I've never read any Crusie and I'm going to read this one but y'all, this book is 12 years old and they want how much for the ebook?!
Thank God for libraries.
