Observation: many #digitalrights orgs work on "digital threats to democracy," but solely focus programmatic work on: privacy & security and "ethics" and bias. digital threats harm most marginalised first; an intersectional, anti-racist, discriminatory approach is imperative

Funding bodies have a responsibility in this as well. At this point white led research on communities of colour is an act of institutional racism. There is abundant talent, and plenty of opportunities for allyship to step back and foreground a colleague who gets routinely ignored.

@aoifemrtn @drhannahrobbins we knew. and fair play to the journo for at least pushing back. it’s always such a red herring when issues are framed as concern for young ppl by bigoted folk

👋🏾 I want to join/participate in a #community that is intersectional+inclusive @ intersection of academia/tech policy/social justice. There are a few that purport this in BER/LDN...but then are communities of majority white women 🤔 Know any? #request

Hi hello yes daily reminder that "the least represented and championed group in #tech : are black women" - @cindygallop . If your co's D&I efforts *only* addresses gender, I advise you to hire @deborahokenla @urennalexa @Abadesi @Blackamazon 'cause they can advise.

i'm incredibly proud of myself 😭. i completed this degree in the midst of trauma and isolation, holding down a senior role @ work. doing 65 hour weeks, in the middle of pandemic year 2. it's an absolute achievement — one of my best — and i just wish i could call my mum.
