We currently have nearly 60 patients on enhanced respiratory support (CPAP/HFNO/NIV) on Respiratory and Acute Medical Wards, compared to ~25 at the peak of the first wave and 3 at baseline. We have expanded to 20x baseline 😳

Admitted a patient this week with an entirely preventable asthma exacerbation because she couldn’t afford the prescription charge for her preventative inhaler. Bad for her health, misses work meaning she has even less money and given cost and bed pressures economically bonkers.

I am speechless. Having led 1,000’s of cardiac arrests I struggle to go back to work afterwards, I really hope this decision was freely made and they weren’t coerced or pressurised.

Following the request made by players of both teams, UEFA has agreed to restart the match between Denmark and Finland tonight at 20:30 CET (TBC). The last four minutes of the first half will be played, there will then be a 5-minute half-time break followed by the second half.

Successfully recruited another 4 @RoyalLondonHosp patients to @recovery_rs today. Still find “success” in recruiting to this trial a difficult concept as it just highlights how many sick patients we still have with #COVID19
