Too many kids have been taught that the goal of HS sports is to achieve an ATHLETIC scholarship - here’s the truth: the goal of HS sports is to learn how to be a better person, better teammate, better communicator & to enjoy being a teenager...something you can’t get back.
Your coach...
DIDN’T make you sleep in.
DIDN’T make you skip reps.
DIDN’T make you go half speed.
DIDN’T make you have a bad attitude.
DIDN’T set your priorities,
But it’s IRONIC how many kids get mad at their coach when they don’t perform and then they don’t play!
True Story:
Prospect Had 3 D1 FCS Offers, all pulled their offer today bc they signed guys ahead of him on their board. He declined to EVEN speak with D2s, now he has 0 offers.
Dont bigtime coaches at any level, Recruiting world is harsh & u need to consider all Opportunities
High school athletes college football is no joke. Most of y’all want all these offers & etc but have no idea what u about to get yourself into. It ain’t for the weak. My advice 2 y’all is u better learn how to outwork everyone, be coachable, work on time management & be patient‼️
Poor grades, weed and selfish girlfriends have killed hundreds of thousands of promising 🏈 careers. I see it yearly! So get good grades, get a girlfriend that's your biggest cheerleader and stay off the weed and you'll have a better chance of maximizing your football potential!
Mathematics for ALL athletes:
1. Miss 1-2 workouts, you (and your coaches), will know it.
2. Miss 3-5 workouts, your teammates will know it.
3. Miss 6 or more workouts, and your opponents will know it!
@CoachKurtHines
“My kid is a d1 kid, and you aren’t getting him d1 looks Coach.”—-“Ma’am, Sir!...if your kid had d1 ability AND d1 academics AND D1 work ethic...I wouldn’t have to call those schools!! They are gonna call me!! Too many critics with no credentials 🤷🏾♂️
YALL, IF THE WEIGHT ROOM IS NOT A PRIORITY IN THE OFF-SEASON, NEITHER IS WINNING IN THE FALL. YOU WANT TO KNOW IF A TEAM IS GREAT? PEEP THE SQUAT RACKS. IF THEYRE EMPTY, SO IS THE TROPHY CASE.
Coach Blazer
Dear Players,
I coach you because I care about you. I challenge you because I believe in you. I correct you to help you reach your potential. I hold you accountable to prepare you for life.
Sincerely,
My Purpose
@TheCoachJournal
U think your son playing football is dangerous? I’ll tell u what’s really dangerous: Your teenage son not being involved with an organization that works constantly to reinforce decision making, character, keeping grades up, & sacrifice for the good of the team.
@KevinSa63100092
All players aren't D1 players..
Whether you get a opportunity at a D2, D3, NAIA, USCAA, NCCAA Or NJCAA.. You’re blessed!
Understand there is a kid out there that WANTS THAT SPOT.
Don’t miss a blessing chasing a dream. Go where you’re a priority & enjoy your college experience!
Everyone wants a D-1 scholarship, but remember there r D-2 & D-3 players in the NFL...also remember, not everyone makes it to NFL, so that degree carries weight, whether if it’s D-1, D-2 or D-3..and that’s what will put a roof over ur head, food in ur mouth/clothes on your back.
Coaches: The best thing U can do for your players is to be tough, demanding, brutally honest & have high expectations. If U don’t, players never know exactly where they stand with U. If U do, they know U truly care about them & their improvement & success. When U care, they care!
Coaching my 13th Az State football Championship 2day..most coaches see 1-2 if that.. thankful for all my former and current players and staffs..please understand the amount of dedication & sacrifice made from all aspects..and the resilience built & demonstrated during this time..
Why is your coach so demanding of you?
-They see something special in you
-They have high expectations for you
-They want you to create good habits
-They want you to be successful
-They care about you
If your coach pushes you to be your best, don’t be annoyed, be appreciative!
Athletes, if you can’t make a commitment to your HS team to come to summer strength and conditioning sessions; what makes you think you’ll be able to make a commitment to a college program??????🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤭🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Running until u puke sucks.
Telling a friend to get there on time when he’s late sucks.
Challenging yourself against a better opponent & failing sucks.
6am workouts sucks
Giving it ur all & knowing u maxed out your potential makes all the suck worth it. Embrace the suck!

Underclassmen – Do yourself a favor, and ask to sit down (1 on 1), with the senior that you have the greatest respect for.
Ask them what their greatest regrets are over the past four years, ask them what they would do differently, ask what they’re most proud of, & TRULY LISTEN!
🔥When pass rushing always have a back up plan.
If your primary move doesn't work, you need to have a counter ready so you can still get pressure.
For example Micah Parsons initially attempts to rip, but switches to a club when the blocker oversets.
Perfection!
How it started..and how the journey continues..
Words can’t begin 2 describe how happy & proud I am of him. His diligence, work effort, his faith, belief, perseverance & persistence. I have a few titles, (coach, firefighter, mentor) but Dad is my absolute favorite.
Love my son♥️
O line, when you coach says deliver a punch, he means punch as if the dude just slapped your momma , not like you're giving a sports massage..it’s a blow that is meant to punish and damn near stop their heart..it’ll redirect their rush..and allow you to establish being physical.
ATHLETES: If your coach has to track you down for you to put work in, don't be surprised when you get replaced by someone who tracks your coach down looking for work!!!!!
Players: Your athletic career is most likely temporary; ur character lasts a lifetime. The person you are is far more important than the player you are. What r your habits? Are u grateful, humble, honest. Do u care 4 others? Be someone people respect on & off the playing field
If America had the mindset of a football locker room, a group of people with different backgrounds becoming a family that loves each other, working together for one goal we’d be so much better.
@CoachJab3152
College ball isnt anything like high school. U have to work harder, while ur surrounded by more distractions. If u think u can take the attitude u had in high school & use that to thrive in college, ur wrong. Even the best need to get better to win in college. TRUST THE PROCESS
Parents please understand that 99.9% of us coaches play the best player and don’t hold your kids back. We also have a professional responsibility to never put a kid on the field that can’t protect himself or if he just isn’t ready to play yet. It’s ok if another player is better
Dear Parents,
Your child’s future boss isn’t going 2 give them a raise simply for “showing up”.
They WILL however, reward them (or fire them),based on their work ethic, character, teamwork,willingness/ability 2 get the job done!
Sincerely,
Coaches Who Truly Care
@CoachKurtHines
The weight room does a lot more than just build ur body. It builds character/mental toughness, identifies weaknesses & reveals assertiveness. It creates leaders & shows who has drive & those who fake it. Through its grit, it reveals who’ll be successful & who won’t.
@CoachJonBeck
Players, imagine no facilities. No social media. No rankings. Clout didn’t exist. Drip didn’t exist. There was just results and winning. None of the other bullshit mattered. That’s the era your coaches played in. That’s why we’re hard on you when you take it for granted.
A little “offseason” Math:
1. Miss 1-2 offseason workouts, you (and your coaches), will know it.
2. Miss 3-5 workouts, your teammates will know it.
3. Miss 6 or more workouts, and your opponents will know it..💯
@CoachKurtHines
It’s time for high school coaches to crack down on players using the N word. It’s not acceptable. Someone needs to give a history lesson about the connotation of that word.
@latsondheimer
I’ve said it b4 and I’ll say it again…and again.. and again
Not impressed with 7 on 7 underwear Olympics..or Big man 1 on 1 competition..do I believe that both have their place? Yes.. but the hoopla and false bravado…that’s social media driving a bullshit narrative
BREAKING NEWS: every day that u decide 2 not hone your craft or practice your sport.. your competition is creeping closer 2 taking your spot..your scholarship, your contract or the position u wanted on your job (that is for real lifers) just think twice b4 U say not 2day
#foreal
Coaching O-Line isn’t just about blocking...u r developing and building a mentality/room of nasty, with the use of emotional and physical challenges.. with the idea of achieved greatness by demanding a standard beyond that a man can ask of himself...
In a world where high school prospects are immortalized through social media and recruiting the biggest shock when you get to college is how good all the guys are you’ve never read about or heard of. Don’t get caught up in the hype. Stay humble and hungry.
Station 11 90 day Fit Challenge is in the books as of today. Left pic: Weigh in on Feb 8th at 307, 10.3% BF.
Right pic 289lbs (-18) BF 9.7% just turned 53. Results are a matter of what u r willing to sacrifice and the amount of work u r willing 2 put in.

I can’t get down with this D1 or bust mentality. Your going to college to get an education and to have an experience that will last a lifetime. If all you’re concerned about is what level you run, block or catch, then your missing the parade. Your goals should be

I am blown away by your words..Nick you are a wonderful young man & human being..I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be your coach/mentor..the pleasure was all mine. You developed into a great leader and Qb for our Huskies.
Coaches don’t just coach. They support, listen to, teach, care for, & love their players while dedicating countless hours to making a difference in their lives. They’re role models & guardians. They’ll call U out & back U up 100%. For this, they deserve our respect & admiration.
Kids in the class of 2022 and 2023 need to chill out a little.
College coaches have to finish up 2020 1st. Then they have to vet and evaluate 10,000 kids in 2021.
Your day is coming, but it's not today.
Worry about the weight room until then.

IT IS HARD TO:
- Get up early and workout
- Push through the last rep
- Touch every line in conditioning
- Compete on every play
- Maintain your poise
- Confront a teammate
But it is much harder to live with the REGRET of not reaching your goals when you don't do these things.
A message 2 all of the high school ballers who are about 2 embark on their college careers. A little word to the wise, no matter how big time u were in HS, no one will care, u go right back to the bottom of the ladder now, it's up to you how long you remain there .
@BIGIRVSATX1
Real Student/Athletes...
1. Don't Get D's, F's, or Miss Classes
2. Don't Miss Summer Workouts
3. Don't Finish Last in Drills
4. Don't Fake Injuries to Avoid Workouts/Conditioning
5. Don't Run From Competition
6. Don't Complain When Coached Hard
7. Don't Need to Be Motivated
In one week, the world has seen health care workers, truck drivers, grocery store clerks/employees, first responders and nurses become more significant than Professional athletes , famous people and actors..🤔🤔

ATHLETES: Rest is not a dirty word. Not only is rest needed, but it allows your body to recover from practices and workouts. Enjoying the grind does NOT mean daily, it means in a calculated and steadfast way.
@CoachJasonWitt
Millennials don’t get butt hurt because everyone doesn’t agree with you, see things your way or say what u want to hear, hate 2 shock or disappoint u, it ain’t gonna happen.. quit lookin 4 cheerleaders & find yourself a coach, a mentor, someone who can drop some wisdom on yo ass
Your Teammates won't remember:
-How many offers you have
-How many games you start
-How many points you score
They will remember:
-How you treat them
-How hard you play
-How much you care

The O-line will teach u how to work without recognition
The O-line will teach u how to work with others to succeed
The O-line will teach u that the only way to excel is to study ur craft
If that doesnt sound like its setting u up for real life, not sure what does. #💯
Everyone wants 2 tweet/post the visits w/all the jerseys and how blessed they r..here's a challenge..in 3-4 years jump on & tweet this..cuz when it's all said & done..this is what really matters, and this is what's going to carry u the rest of ur life.

Anyone notice what happened in “The Last Dance” documentary when MJ got cut from the varsity team in 10th grade?
His mom told him to work harder all summer.
She did not call the coach, athletic director and superintendent to complain.

Players: If you want to miss workouts, do it. If you want to sleep in, do it. If you want to chill, do it. If you want to skip reps, do it. If you want to make excuses, do it. If you want to be soft, do it. Just please don’t act surprised when your competition kicks your tail!

For those of you who feel you are talented enough and have the measurables to play in college who constantly talk about being slept on...
Make sure you aren’t sleeping on this:
-Academics
-Weight Room
-Being a Great Teammate
-Being Coachable
-Showing Up on Time
-Being a Leader
Not every athlete develops at the same rate. Just because you’re behind your peers now doesn’t mean you can’t catch up to them as long as you are willing to put in the work💯💯💯
RECRUITS, Stop being enamored by facilities
Uniform combos and aesthetics..
Big picture,One day the cheering will stop
U will peel off ur uniform 4 the last time
Don’t count on the NFL..it stands for, NOT FOR LONG
U r there to get an education, the degree hangs on the wall 4ever
MENTALLY TOUGH:
Puts the team first.
Tunes out distractions.
Wants to be coached.
Sacrifices to be their best.
Competes in everything they do.
Uses goal achieving as fuel.
Chooses right over wrong.
Overcomes adversity.
Learns from failure.
Never gives up.
MENTALLY WEAK: OPPOSITE
Let's not raise a generation of athletes who expect recognition for simply showing up.
Let's reward DEDICATION, COMMITMENT, HARD WORK, CHARACTER, and SERVANT LEADERSHIP!
