WE DID IT
The school board recall qualified for the ballot!!!
The election to recall Commissioners Lopez, Collins & Moliga is scheduled for Feb 15, 2022.
A grassroots community of over 1000 parents, teachers and residents made SF history today!
BRING ALGEBRA BACK!!!!
Kids down the peninsula can take Algebra I in 8th grade, but in SF, it's banned.
This is deeply unfair to public school kids who want to be scientists, tech workers, and engineers.
SIGN THE PETITION and bring Algebra back!
Today we delivered enough (& more) signatures to recall Commissioners Lopez, Collins & Moliga.
Today we ensured the voice of the people resounds loud and clear through City Hall.
Today we launched a revolution to put students first in our public education system.
Thank you SF!
Today we defeated Prop C - the attempt by SF supervisors to strip away a vital democratic right.
61% of San Franciscans voted against the measure.
I hope politicians in the city learn that the best way to avoid recalls is to do your job.
IT TAKES A CITY TO RECALL THE SCHOOL BOARD
Yesterday SF told the world, emphatically - that kids come first, politics last
People in every part of the city, from every walk of life voted to recall the 3 school board members
Thank you San Francisco for standing up for our kids!
Woohoo!!!!!
“Board of Supervisors’ Rules Committee voted unanimously to move forward with a ballot measure urging SFUSD to make first-year algebra available to middle school students by the eighth grade.”

RECALL SF SCHOOL BOARD IS NOW "SF GUARDIANS"
Our immediate priority is to Protect Your Right to Recall.
We're launching a campaign against Prop C, which makes it nearly impossible to recall elected leaders in SF.

8th GRADE ALGEBRA MAP
In the heart of the tech industry some public school districts, led by
@SFUnified
are making it HARDER for students to have a STEM career ... by denying students the chance to take algebra in 8th grade.

Thank you Bay Area Reporter for highlighting Supe
@AaronPeskin
’s naked attempt to take power away from the people of SF
It’s especially galling that under Peskin’s Law the recalled members can run in Nov but the newly appointed members can’t.

10K+ RECALL SIGNATURES !!!
This week, we crossed 10k recall signatures for Commissioners Lopez & Collins. It's been just over a month since we started collecting signatures & over 500 volunteers have canvassed across SF!

"The San Francisco Examiner Editorial Board urges a yes vote on the school board recall. Hopefully, it will send a message to other local elected officials about the dangers of willfully neglecting core duties in favor of vainglorious ideological stunts."
UPDATE ON PETITION THEFT
We were informed that due to the sensitive nature of the case, it has been transferred to the Special Investigations Division.
We've also learnt that if the suspect signed the petition with a false name that could violate CA election Law 18613.

On Oct 18, SFUSD students walked out demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.
We respect students' right to speak up.
These unsanctioned protests were, however, organized by AROC, an SFUSD contractor -- in serious violation of their contract with SFUSD.

OVER 51K SIGNATURES!!!
We're so humbled by the remarkable outpouring of support from every part of San Francisco!
We need 70k to ensure we qualify. If you haven't already signed the school board recall, there are three easy ways listed on our website:
The group hoping to recall three San Francisco school board members exceeded 51,325 signatures today—or about 10% of San Francisco’s registered voters.
Political strategists say the campaign is on track to get on the ballot by Sept. 7. (1/6)
ENDORSEMENT NEWS!!!
Big thanks to:
Matt Gonzalez (former head of the SF Board of Supervisors & member of the Green Party), and
John Burton (former Chair of the CA Democratic Party)
for endorsing the recall of Commissioners Lopez, Collins & Moliga!
KQED's review of our campaign finances shows that MORE of our money came from SF donors (76%) compared to school board members (63%).
The people of SF are revolting against these elected leaders who abandoned our kids at the time of their greatest need.
LISTEN TO LÓPEZ
As ballots drop, recalled school board President Gabriela López has some pertinent advice for you.
We urge you to listen and follow.
(turn up the volume!!!)
NOV. SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION: CANDIDATES
We compared where the candidates stand on key issues so we know what they'll prioritize once elected (excludes Phil Kim who filed last minute).
Electing Ann, Lainie & Lisa is crucial to ensure the board doesn't return to the bad old habits.
Many of the leading voices asking Ann Hsu
@annforsfboe
to resign (despite her apology) are the same voices that did NOT ask Alison Collins to resign.
Many of them campaigned for Collins during the recall even after her $87m lawsuit.
The minimum we expect of an elected leader is empathy — with the pain, frustration and suffering of SO many families that have been forced out of SF due to the sheer incompetence of our school board.
Yet the president of the SF school board fails to do even the minimum.
Last night the D11 dem club voted to OPPOSE the recall of all three commissioners.
We will not forget - that you stood by those who abandoned our children at their time of greatest need. That you stood with anti-asian hatred.
We will NEVER forget.
SF CHRONICLE ENDORSES THE RECALL OF LÓPEZ, COLLINS AND MOLIGA!!!!
"Our decision was solely based on the board’s competence in shepherding the district and its students through the gravest of times during the pandemic."
Withering criticism of the SF school board from the SF Examiner Editorial Board.
"SF's bumbling school board members get the recall election they deserve".
If these allegations are true, this is absolutely unacceptable and should be condemned by EVERY resident of SF who believes in democracy.
EVERYONE has the right to petition — NO ONE has the right to intimidate or steal those petitions. That is a direct attack on our democracy.
Over the weekend, one of our volunteers was harassed by a group of individuals while they were gathering signatures. Our volunteer was approached, physically surrounded and verbally intimidated. Our volunteer was afraid for their safety and called the police. (1/X)
Fantastic news!!!!!
10 out of 11 members of the SF Board of Supervisors voted in favor of the ballot measure to Bring Algebra Back for our 8th graders!!!!
Now it goes in front of voters in March' 24 ... look out for your ballot and remember to vote YES to algebra!!!!!
Our candidates Ann, Lainie & Lisa are the top 3 candidates in the school board race … but who's the competition?
We took a close look at Alida Fisher and here's what we found ...
Regardless of how people feel about this conflict I hope we can all agree that district contractors given privileged access to our children should not be organizing our children to do political work in violation of their contract and applicable laws.

Commissioner Collins has used her position on the school board to carry out her personal vendettas against SFUSD staff and teachers.
@hknightsf
She needs to go.
My latest: Poll numbers show three members of the San Francisco school board would likely be ousted by voters if a recall attempt qualifies for the ballot. Parents of SFUSD kids are even more likely than voters at large to support a recall — 69% vs. 60%.
“I thought it was going to be better because it’s San Francisco,” she said in Ukrainian, with her aunt translating. “But after two days, I saw everything going on at the school.”

"Now a mother of two children in the San Francisco public school system, Ms. Chu felt compelled, for the first time, to become actively involved in an election. Her hands hurt, she said, from texting so much on WeChat during the campaign."
30 REASONS TO VOTE NO ON C
Starting today we're publishing a reason a day on why you should Vote No on Prop C, which strips your Right to Recall.
(and if there are reasons you'd like us to cover, comment or dm).

. Prop C is a naked power grab by SF politicians.
Want to recall the SF school board? Find your nearest petition signing site!
We have a number of them spread across the city this weekend, including a drive thru location just outside Lowell HS.
“I will be voting for the first time,” said Zhou, a “green card” holder who was interviewed by The Standard in Cantonese. “I want to exercise my rights here.”
Thanks to D2 Supervisor Stefani
@SupStefani
for endorsing the recall of López, Collins & Moliga!!!
"The education, health and well-being of our public school students should be the first priority and focus of our Board of Education, not trying to score cheap political points."
Hey Supervisor
@DeanPreston
... we hear you're campaigning hard to keep Commissioner Collins in office.
So we thought you'd appreciate this t-shirt we're ordering for you, so your constituents can see the VALUES YOU STAND FOR.
Tell us your size, so we can get it right.
A member of the SF School Board is up for recall.
Today, she published a defense of their work — highlighting their three biggest accomplishments over the last four years:
"If the city’s progressives continue to make such facile accusations of racism while ignoring the actual issues that matter to the city’s voters, they may face the same fate as Collins and her colleagues."
The SF school board failed all our children last year ... and especially Hispanic/Latino children.
Latino families were amongst the largest group that wanted to return to school, yet the school board never acknowledged this fact.
They were silenced.
“The Chinese American voters have been the turning point of the recall school board movement. A large number of the Chinese American parents and voters devoted their time and efforts to gather or sign signatures. “
We learnt that
@UESF
leadership passed a resolution opposing the recall without polling its members.
On behalf of the tens of thousands of educators, parents and SF residents who have signed a petition to recall the SF school board, we ask
@Ms_Curiel
that you poll them first.
SF students and communities deserve a democratically elected school board, not one that serves at the pleasure of whoever is the mayor. It has been extremely controversial and unproductive in cities where mayoral control exists, such as Washington D.C.
If you ever wondered how we ended up with such terrible leadership on the school board, we now have the answer -- its precisely because voters have blindly followed ultra biased "voter guides" like
@TheLeagueSF
that are in reality purveyors of propaganda & misinformation.

30 REASONS TO RECALL THE SF SCHOOL BOARD.
Starting today, we will be publishing a reason everyday for why we should recall the SF school board.

. Despite having one of the lowest covid rates, SF is the ONLY top metro with NO in-person schooling.
"Start with schools. San Francisco was the only top-25 city not to bring most middle- and high-school pupils back to classrooms at all in the 2020-21 academic year."
Despite being faced with a dire fiscal crisis, the school board voted 6-1 last night to continue to spend money to pursue legal avenues to take down the Washington murals.
The San Francisco Department of Elections has certified the results for the February 15, 2022, Consolidated Special Municipal Election. Results reports are posted on .

BAY AREA REPORTER: RECALL ALL 3

Nearly 2k people have donated to the recall - 84% live in SF (in contrast only 57% of the few anti-recall donors live in the city).
This recall is the people of SF rising up in revolt against elected leaders who prioritized their political careers over our children's futures.
83.% of the YES on school board recall contributors live within San Francisco whereas only 57% of no on recall contributors are from SF.
This recall is essentially the people of SF rising up in revolt against elected leaders who abandoned our children.
Yesterday we submitted the proposed recall petition to the city, that means we could have petitions to sign in 10 days!

@FaauugaMoliga
has stepped down from the SF board of education, effective immediately.
“Resigning immediately creates an opportunity for a new board member to step in at this important moment.”
Incorrect. We're fiercely non partisan -- our community spans the entire spectrum of SF politics.
10s of thousands of registered voters from EVERY part of San Francisco signed the petition to recall Commissioners Lopez, Collins & Moliga.
If you're upset by the recent attempt to steal petitions and disrupt the democratic process, drop into your nearest petition site this weekend and help us put the school board recall on the ballot!
LIES, DAMN LIES AND THE LEAGUE OF PISSED OFF VOTERS
We've seen some terrible takes but this one (from

COUNTDOWN TO SCHOOL BOARD RECALL
We've heard a lot about the cost of the recall election (~$8m, likely to be borne by the city ).
But what about the cost of NOT recalling the SF school board? We ran the numbers.
Supervisor Gordon Mar
@D4GordonMar
says he agrees the recalled school board members were terrible yet he chose to oppose parents’ democratic right to get better leadership for their kids.
PTA PRESIDENT SAYS RECALL THE SCHOOL BOARD!
Galileo High School parent, PTA President & SFUSD Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee Chair Ann Hsu says Recall López, Collins, and Moliga!
Vote Yes February 15!
Incredibly disappointing to see the CA Board of Ed rush through approval of the discredited Math Framework ... disregarding pleas from the community, SF electeds & math experts.
We're exploring next steps ... not going to let them hurt our kids again.
"Returning to schools was not safe until maybe April (2021)"
- President Lopez.

@vanessarancano
FALSE
It was safe to return in Oct 20 (15k pvt. school kids did)
But the board rejected a reopening consultant in July 20, so public school kids didn't.
LOPEZ EXPLAINS WHY SHE'S BEING RECALLED
“People want us to say we were wrong, we regret doing what we did, we’re sorry. And that will never be something I will do,” Lopez said recently on a local podcast, Latina Latino Latinx News.

@jgecker
“If you picked people randomly from the phone book, they’d be better candidates than the people who are in power,” Raj said. “The level of dysfunction and incompetence and self-serving that these candidates have exhibited is just extraordinary.”
COLLINS' INTERVIEW WITH KQED
Qn: How do you judge the way you handled the tweet controversy?
Collins: "... My tweets, what I said, was not racist ..."
Qn: Do you regret filing (the $87m lawsuit)?
Collins: No, I don't

@vanessarancano
"The voters voted for 2 new schools, teacher housing and fixing up schools badly in need of repair.
We got 0 new schools, 0 units of teacher housing and half a million wasted in legal battles over a mural while students went to school with rats."
A reminder that our fight is with the SF school board (not the teacher's union).
We admire how hard the union fights for teachers and wish someone would fight as hard for our children.
It's the school board's job to fight for our students, which it has entirely failed to do.
TODAY IS WHEN WE RECALL THE SCHOOL BOARD!
And to make that happen, there's literally only one thing you need to do -- VOTE YES to recall all 3!!!
