Cowcaddens White Watch were yesterday joined by the family of Sub Officer Adrian McGill on Maryhill Road as we paid tribute to his sacrifice at a fire on 18th November 1972. He died after giving his own oxygen set to a resident who was trapped and awaiting rescue. #neverforgotten

Today marks the 63rd Anniversary of the Cheapside Street Disaster where 19 firefighters lost their lives while tackling a fire at a whisky bond in Glasgow. A commemorative ceremony will take place at Glasgow’s Necropolis today at 11am. Wreaths will be laid in honour of them. 💐

Firefighters and their helpers from Knightswood Community Fire Station held a fundraising car wash today and raised almost £1,000 for the @firefighters999 charity, who offer specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services and their families. Well done👏 @fire_scot

1 week today on 28th March will mark the Cheapside Street Memorial. 19 people lost their lives at this incident 59 years ago. We will be marking this day by attending the cenotaph at Glasgow Necropolis to lay wreaths in their memory. Come along and show your support.
