I’ve written about
@RealTimBooth
’s event at Stoller Hall, which celebrated the release of his debut novel, ‘When I Died For The First Time’. Challenging the usual two-chair setup of a book talk, he delivered an evening of conversation, readings and songs.
Blondie are ripping the Pyramid Stage to shreds! Decades since exploding onto the scene, they’re still one of the most electric live bands out there. ❤️🔥
On the train after a flying visit to London to see my fave. I’ve been to a fair few signings, but
@Johnny_Marr
takes them to a whole new level - he has so much time and respect for his fans.
RIP Andy. A huge talent and an inspiration to many - his bass lines were an integral part of the Smiths’ sound.
Very sad news. Thinking of his family and friends. 💔
It’s 11 years since my first
@Johnny_Marr
gig and he still blows me away every single time. This has been one of my favourite tours and it definitely seems like he enjoyed it as much as the rest of us. Forever my hero. Thanks Johnny.
Five years sober today and it’s one of the best decisions i’ve ever made. No downside, as
@Johnny_Marr
says. 👌🏻
Big up
@lspraggan
for all of her alcohol free recommendations - my bloodstream would be 99% Coca Cola if it wasn’t for her.
I made a reel about the Summer of Marr! It’s mostly videos of
@Johnny_Marr
being great, but there are a few fun bits and bobs from catching up with people and travelling around - do keep an eye out for me twatting about on a zip wire after the Frome show. Peak Laura.
An incredibly special end to this years
@Johnny_Marr
shows! It was easy to see that he loved playing with an orchestra as much as we loved watching him. ✨
Spent my lunch hour at John Rylands checking out
@JonSavage1966
’s exhibition, which includes one of
@Johnny_Marr
’s guitars. I love working in Manchester. 🤟🏻
Had such a lovely time in Leeds - it felt like i’d never been away. As always, it was a total pleasure to see
@Johnny_Marr
, who’s been a legend with signings this week. ✊🏻
Never shy of a challenge,
@wearejames
have just come to the end of a tour with a full orchestra and gospel choir - and the results were spellbinding. I reviewed their show at Blackpool’s Opera House for
@godisinthetv
:
I’ve seen
@Johnny_Marr
play ten times this year and reviewed about six of his shows, yet every single time has felt like the first.
Just finished my review of his orchestral show on Thursday and you better believe that I’ve been as enthusiastic as ever. FIVE STARS.
I reviewed
@Johnny_Marr
SEVEN times this year! I’ve linked them all below. 👇
I nearly packed writing in a few months back so just wanted to say thanks to everyone who is always really supportive - especially with the Johnny pieces, as they’re the most fun.
@garbage
• The thing that I find most admirable about Shirley Manson is her realness. An inspirational feminist, she’s never been one to mince her words and she’s long been speaking out for what’s right throughout her career.
I’m still going through photos and videos from the tour and man, the ‘There Is a Light That Never Goes Out’ singalong at Rock City was insane. 🤯
@Johnny_Marr
@GazCoombes
Hearing
@Johnny_Marr
cover ‘The Passenger’ on
@bbcradio2
has blown my mind. Sounded incredible.
#pianoroom
Also, that version of ‘Somewhere’ needs to stay in his set forever! Glad I got a clip of it from Aviva Studios in December.
After many many months of stress, I did it - I bought my first home! 🥳
Completing the sale on what should be Glastonbury weekend *and* moving my favourite
@Johnny_Marr
poster in first are both very on brand for me, i’m sure you’ll all agree.
We're thrilled to announce our upcoming US and Canada tour, September - October 2024, where we'll be co-headlining with the incredible
@Johnny_Marr
!
General On sale: Friday 10th May at 10am (local time to the zone of each venue)
I can’t tell you how long i’ve wanted to be tattooed by Mr Preston for.
I had a few albums in mind, but always came back to ‘The Messenger’ - from now on, i’ll be in shorts at all future
@Johnny_Marr
gigs.
Always full of surprises, you never know what
@SELFESTEEM___
has up her sleeve and the first show of her tour had it all - including two new tracks that serve as a reminder of her ambition and desire to continually experiment with her sound.
I was there for
@godisinthetv

It’s not the same without his insight and stories, but I’ve made a playlist of the tracks
@Johnny_Marr
played during his Artist in Residence shows on

@Johnny_Marr
impressed in Liverpool on his latest tour with a setlist that illustrated his versatility and talent as a songwriter and performer. I reviewed the night - including
@GazCoombes
’ triumphant support slot - for
@deadgoodblog
:
It’s a nightmare when you travel to a gig that ends up being postponed, but if the singer is ill and can’t sing, there’s nothing that can be done. I don’t understand the logic of people tweeting their frustrations at Tim - you’re just making somebody who’s ill feel worse.
For my birthday last year,
@alan0669
kindly got me a voucher for his tattooist (rhithehuman on Insta) - I used it today to get the
@wearejames
tattoo that i’ve wanted for a long long time. Blue and yellow for Warrington and Leeds (my hometown and home from home!)
Alton Towers is one of the gigs I wish i’d been old enough to be at, so last night was an absolute dream - amazing to have a mini bonus set too! Forever proud to call James my favourite band. 💙💛💜♥️💚

Blackpool was one of the most emotional and moving James shows i’ve been to. After Debbie shared the sad passing of her father and how the show was a celebration for her, the crowd ensured that it was - filling the room with love, support and respect.
There are no words to describe how great it’s been seeing
@Johnny_Marr
support Blondie. Chuffed to bits that I got to spend my last gig of the tour at the front - thank you,
@danjo76484
! ♥️
Somebody cut my credit card up before I end up going to Birmingham tomorrow.
Happy Birthday to ‘The Messenger’ and ‘Fever Dreams Pts. 1-4’ - two of
@Johnny_Marr
’s finest pieces of work.
Johnny’s come such a long way as a solo artist since releasing ‘The Messenger’, but it’s still just as magical as it was in 2013.
@SkeletonOscar
I heard somebody saying this a few days back about ADHD, autism, etc. They definitely existed, people just didn’t know enough about them.
With a plethora of brilliant guitar work behind him,
@Johnny_Marr
has achieved more in the last decade than some artists achieve in their entire careers – and ‘Spirit Power’ just touches the surface of what he’s capable of. I reviewed it for
@godisinthetv

@Johnny_Marr
's orchestral collaboration at
@factoryintl
showcased his boundary-pushing talent. I reviewed Thursdays show, which was the inaugural live music performance at Aviva Studios:
Last night was magical. Still smiling from hearing so many of my favourite songs reworked with an orchestra and choir.
Never a band to go through the motions,
@wearejames
are constantly challenging themselves and it’s part of the reason that they’ve had such a lengthy career.
So happy that I managed to make it to Birmingham for
@Johnny_Marr
’s last show with Blondie. Incredible.
I took zero photos, so here are some from Nottingham. 🤟🏻
Unafraid of the unknown,
@wearejames
continue soaring to new heights of beauty and inspiration and their refusal to conform to expectations as to what a band of their longitude should he doing is commendable. My review of ‘Yummy’ is up on
@godisinthetv

Twitter doesn’t give enough characters for me to explain how special the last month has been. From
@Johnny_Marr
’s headline dates to his shows with Blondie, it’s been an absolute dream. ♥️
James brought their orchestral dates to an end with a sublime show in Nottingham. Not every band could pull off such an ambitious tour, but James are never shy of a challenge and it was one of their most triumphant yet. My review’s up on
@godisinthetv
! ✌🏻
Rebecca Lucy Taylor was amazing in Cabaret last night - the role of Sally Bowles was actually made for her! She continues to exceed my already high expectations in *every* thing she does. Love you,
@SELFESTEEM___
. ♥️

@Johnny_Marr
was the first artist to play
@factoryintl
last week. Joined by an orchestra, the collaboration not only gave him the opportunity to reinterpret his catalogue in exciting ways, but exemplified his eagerness for pushing boundaries:
I pitched a B-Side feature to the guys at
@godisinthetv
a few months ago and couldn’t resist kicking things off with the King of B-Sides himself,

Marr-cation has arrived! Last time I saw
@Johnny_Marr
, it was in Portland and there was glorious sunshine - Holmfirth needs to sort this rain out! I AM VERY EXCITED.
There’s nobody i’d rather see fifty times than
@Johnny_Marr
. Every gig’s better than the last and he continues to be everything you’d hope your hero to be.
Despite having to play their set in two halves due to lightning,
@wearejames
put on a show to remember in Halifax!
The sheer energy from the stage was enough to keep the soggy crowd in good spirits, but they changed their setlist up and played hits aplenty just to be sure.
Home sweet home after three great days of
@Johnny_Marr
gigs - and two boring ones working remotely. It looks like he’s having a blast onstage at the minute and the set lists have been stellar. ✊🏻
“If you’re feeling depressed” - there are different levels of depression you absolute weapon. His mindset that depression is just feeling a little sad is disgusting. People are killing themselves. Christ, he’s a special kind of stupid. Wake the hell up.

is worth getting the overnight bus from London to Manchester for. Brilliant talk in Islington tonight to celebrate the release of ‘Marr’s Guitars’!
#GuardianLive
I spend a lot of time in my spare room as it’s my office, so I wanted it to pretty much be an explosion of my personality. With the addition of a mini bookcase, my Maxine Peake programmes and a setlist from my 50th
@Johnny_Marr
gig, I think it’s FINALLY done.
My favourite band are celebrating their 40th anniversary and i’m 32, so to see them do such an extensive setlist that covers all areas of their career means so much to me.
Another stunner tonight - looking forward to tomorrow. ♥️
@wearejames
@RealTimBooth
@andydiagram
I will never get bored of seeing James live. Wonderful set tonight - well worth the post work dash to Birmingham! The lighting/visuals are quite something this tour.
@wearejames
On the way home from Scotland and just realised that last night was the first time i’d seen James since I got my daisy tattoo! I can’t even describe the feeling of catching sight of it during their set, whilst surrounded by people who love the band as much as I do.
