How did we do it? 💡 Ordinals showed us it was possible to publish arbitrary data to Bitcoin. We saw this and decided to follow a similar process. At its core, all that was needed was two functions: one to submit rollup blocks, and another to retrieve them.

Sovereign rollups & Stacks are complimentary. There is already some R&D work to use Stacks contracts as an execution layer for sovereign rollups. The trust-minimized sBTC can then be easily used in such sovereign rollups with DA coming from Bitcoin L1, e.g., by using Ordinals.

This hack brings us to a very interesting juncture in the L2 space. - Blast team can theoretically recover these funds by upgrading their bridge contract but this hasn’t happened before. The contract upgrade feature has been used only for bug fixes.
