@aaronsibarium
So, the sad message from
@Harvard
Board members is that they are ok with antisemitism and had to think long and hard about whether or not plagiarism is actually reprehensible.
In Troy, Michigan where 39% of students are Asian w/immigrant parents, the progressives are working hard to radicalize an entire bloc of parent voters against
@TheDemocrats
by eliminating Honors Math.
I’m at a dance competition in NJ. There are probably three thousand people here. I see only 5 people wearing a mask. That’s it. Twitter covidians need a reality check.
@CGasparino
@Columbia
Why wouldn’t businesses want to hire students who have “primal screaming, snack delegating, tent building, window smashing, spray-painting” skills on their resumes? Everyone knows these are valuable assets for building a business, amirite?
The new NYC Health Commissioner is NOT lifting the toddler masking mandate at this time - says they are looking at "benchmarks" but NOT offering any concrete milestones.
This is unacceptable
@NYCMayor
!!!
#UnmaskOurToddlers
@nytimes
Women have been reporting this for months, but instead public health policies ignored their concerns and wouldn’t permit exemptions from mandates while women were silenced, bullied, or forced to lose their jobs as the “progressive”
@nytimes
sat idly by in silence.
If only
@GovKathyHochul
would look at the data.
"Kids’ chances of surviving Covid...have been 99.999 percent nationally, 99.999 percent in states with school mask mandates, and 99.999 percent in states without school mask mandates."
Children lost 2 years of normalcy for the
@CDCgov
to finally arrive at the same conclusions many of us have been screaming from the rooftops for months. If anything, I'm even more infuriated this didn't happen sooner.
I'm in disbelief about upcoming NYC high school graduations.

But it's great that

@sheeraf
No other country approved mRNA vaccines for children under 6 and many don't administer it to those under 12. I guess everyone else is far right except
@nytimes
reporters?
@BillAckman
@Harvard
This is fantastic
@BillAckman
. Much of you describe is what Asian American public school parents (mostly low income immigrants) in NYC, Fairfax, SF, and Boston also realized when we saw admissions for merit-based programs and schools being dismantled under the guise of DEI for
Temperature checks, plexiglass, 6-ft distancing warning signs are still a common feature at many stores, restaurants, buildings, etc in NYC even though these mitigations never worked. The damage the CDC has created won't be reversed for a looong time.
In 2023 (yes, you read that correctly),
@NYTransitMuseum
is subjecting autistic children on the spectrum to mandated masking during their 10 wk after school program for the mere cost of $350. Just plain inhumane.
Quarantining 30 kids over what could be a false positive means that up to 60 parents might not be able to work for 10 days.
Why are we resorting to such punitive measures
@NYCMayor
@DOEChancellor
?
Just got an email from our child's dance school saying no more masks, and they will not require proof of vaccination.
It feels like a huge weight has been lifted - one that never should have been there to begin with.
@anya1anya
I understood your point. My point is the mandates have already backfired and children, particularly Black children, will not be provided an equivalent education as vaccinated children. This, for a vaccine that virtually ineffective at stopping transmission and risk is minimal.
A teacher on a school board meeting was shaming parents for expressing support for Gifted & Talented because they're not thinking about "the greater good of the general community."
Wth! Why must children shoulder the burdens of society's failings?
All this squatter had to do to was *claim* he lives there because it's illegal in NY to turn off utilities, change locks & remove belongings of someone “who claims to be a tenant.” It will take avg of 20 mos for the landlord to evict this guy who is basically stealing her house.
@TPostMillennial
Asking them to drink from the water fountain inside the building they’re trespassing on is inhumane - they have a right to chilled bottled Saratoga Spring Water dammit!
A friend in a co-op where one resident masks their dog asked other neighbors what they thought. Responses were "I could never do that to my dog" "it's not fair to him" "he would never understand".
But it's ok to do this to 2yr olds? Are we really this out of touch with humanity?
@nytimes
Really
@nytimes
, many people were "caught off guard"?? Maybe had your uninquisitive education reporters actually spoken with parents that wanted to keep schools open instead of gaslighting them & spotlighting
@rweingarten
during the last 2 years we would have been ahead of this.
@Jenniferhochsc2
Dunking on those who attend the same program you teach at isn’t the “gotcha” you think it is. It seems petty, condescending, and vindictive. You should just delete this now.
If you're wondering why people in the outer boros are starting to flip out over Eric Adams' City of Yes, here's a a good illustration. The proposal is to virtually eliminate all zoning throughout the city, allowing for monstrosities such as this in 1-2 family neighborhoods:
I love reading the comments on
@nytimes
education articles because there's always somone who can do a better job than me explaining what's wrong with NYC public schools.
Not sure why Kathy is being ratio'd - even though she lives in LA, she just wants toddlers in NYC daycares to mask up so she can feel safe in the off-chance she randomly decides to hang out inside PreK centers when she's here. Makes perfect sense, no?
#IStandWithDaniela
@daniela127
Ok, hear me out. I see that you follow me, Daniela. So, I had 1/2 my lung removed because I had cancer and now I’m super high risk. What if people like me need your kids to wear masks (in addition to us wearing ours) because there are so many high risk people?
Cmon. Whatdya say?
I’ve seen a lot of blame placed on the shoulders of educators & school support staff as
#omicron
spikes to unprecedented levels & schools grapple with staying in person. I want to take a step back & just attest to the herculean work educators have done
I just saw this...

‼️OCTOBER 19 & 20‼️
The CDC will vote on 10/19 to add the Covid vaccine to the children’s schedule of vaccines.

I attended a breakfast this morning hosted by my local school board. Even in deep blue NYC, everyone in the room stood during the national anthem and placed their right hand over their chest…except the 3 far left progressives members of the board who were wearing masks. 🤨
@BillAckman
@MIT
@Penn
From what I’ve seen, the DEI mob is just getting started. You should expect to be labeled:
✅ “Colonizer”
✅ “Oppressor”
✅ “Far right”
✅ “MAGA”
✅ “Trans/Homophobic”
And if you run for office, expect it 10x more. The DEI mob isn’t letting go of billions $$$ w/o a dirty fight.
@NYCMayor
@DOEChancellor
Today, my child had her 1st in person school performance in over 2 yrs. It was wonderful to see, but unfortunately unvaxxed parents were left out because they can't enter the building.
Please end this arbitrary rule, it's harming our sense of community.
I was scoffed at when I mentioned the possibility of an uptick in TB because migrants weren’t being screened.
“The city has confirmed about 500 cases of active tuberculosis so far this year, an increase of roughly 20 percent from the same time last year,”
NYC health dept employees "who were granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly."
TB outbreak is worrying but so is the fact that our health officials are muzzled about it.
This is not acceptable
@NYCMayor
.
Vaccine mandates for children who are at less risk of getting covid than a triple vaxxed 70 yr old is NOT based on evidence.
@JuliaCarmel__
You do realize with tinted windows you can’t tell the race of the driver - so what exactly was the indignity? Having a car registered in another state (to evade high NY insurance rates?) is also sus.
These students aren’t kids anymore. They’re old enough to be drafted into the military and vote. They should get to enjoy the same consequences that other adults who don’t have the privilege of attending college do.
@iandprior
@kerpen
This seems extreme, right up there with calling parents who wanted schools reopened as "domestic terrorists". I don't let my child have an iPhone, would they call that criminal too? As a parent, don't we have the right to determine when & what is appropriate for our child?
I must have missed something - when did covid mutate to the point where it can discern between someone who works for the private sector vs NYC government? Not just any city government, but specifically NYC?
I was going to take the subway into Manhattan for a meeting today…but I think I’ll drive instead.
Starting next month, this option will cost $15 as a
#CongestionPricing
tax.
We should all thank
@nydems
for giving everyone only bad options in the name of “equity”
@MarkLevineNYC
In a city where Dems outnumber Reps more than 2 to 1, I find the tinge of desperation fascinating. Perhaps if you had actually done something about masked toddlers & not trolled parents with extremist school board appointments like Kaliris and Lupe, it wouldn't be this close.
If the goal was to make
@TheDemocrats
look like the party of elite privileged angry white people shouting down some minority parents who wanted to walk about public education, then mission accomplished.
Tonight Moms For Liberty tried to establish a beachhead in Manhattan with a (poorly attended) town hall on the Upper East Side.
We mounted a huge protest outside to call out their hypocrisy and their hatred.
Democracy won this round.
This is the
@leezeldin
rally tonight with
@GovRonDeSantis
. The event was announced yesterday. Hochul doesn't attract crowds like this, especially on short notice. It's only the first day of early voting.
#VoteLeeZeldin
A few highly concerning things to note in this statement from NYS DOH:
1) Recommendation to wear a respirator (!) in school settings for a full 10 days if exposed to covid as a close contact. It is ludicrous to expect children (or anyone!) to wear a respirator. 1b
Who doesn't love being sterotyped by the far left?
SCOTUS struck down affirmative action so apparently I'm now a Asian "conservative white supremacist". Btw, this won't change anyone's POV on race-based admissions, but it will get more Asians beat up.
@DrIbram
Just stop. The damage and discrimination from your writings supporting Critical Race Theory which has reduced Asians to "White Adjacent" is wholly unacceptable. You of all people don't get to own anyone else's struggles when you actively supported the divide.
