TLDR: check your texture compression setting, Godot sets it by default to lossy and 0.7 quality.

I had a big company contacting me and the recruiter was super sweet but then said "no remote only location". I don't think people realize how life changing it is to have to move to a new town that's far away, especially if said town is actually one of the busiest cities in Europe
I am beyond EXCITED about this work
Since this will be probably merged soon, please do give it a test! That way we can spot and correct bugs or compatibility breakage (which shouldn't occur)

๐ค If you're generating your UVs using math, it can often cause problems with Unreal's MipMap selection and create ugly solid seams of pixels. Fortunately, there's a fix!
I watched the VFX presentation by
@qbieshay
at Godotcon Online and saw an opportunity to improve my ball contact effect with her VFX Kit addon.
The effect now has coloured motes and new explosive streaks and sparks.
This is a rainbow rally test that cycles a bunch of colours.
Because some people asked, I'll be doing a breakdown of this effect Saturday 13/3 at 18 CET. I'll be screen sharing in Godot's VFX and Tech art discord server.

were intimidating, there is now a lot of nice helper nodes in visual shaders for it!!
Finally, my pull request to Godot 4.0, about the visual shader for particles has been merged: It was hard and long work - I hope users would like the results.
There is a beautiful park in Bremen where on the sidewalk they have engraved the UN charter of human right. Feels like it's a good moment to remind folks that it exists.
One thing i learned by moving multiple countries over the years is that the grass is always greener on the other side, but definitely Germany has the greenest grass

I'm hoping to integrate this with in Godot by extending our existing particle process. (and put a bunch of stuff behind toggles because it's unusable like this)
Talent is a double edged sword. While it is nice to have something that comes easy to you, it's also dangerous: you may end up focusing your life on your talent and discovering later on that other things bring you way more joy, even if they don't come as natural.
