Sister of the Little Way of Beauty, Truth, & Goodness | Here to listen, especially if you've been abused, wounded, or scandalized by members of the Church.
A statement from Sr. Danielle Victoria and myself regarding the
@PillarCatholic
article that came out today with our stories. We are grateful to
@jdflynn
for telling our stories with sensitivity and care.

The devil wants you to believe that you're a special kind of wounded. The kind that no one can love and no one can heal. He's a liar. You are loved and Jesus can heal you.

Please pray a Hail Mary with me for all those in Beirut who are alive under rubble from the recent blast—that they may be found soon and for all those searching and helping the wounded.
3-year-old niece: (Nods toward my habit) "How can I get one of those?"
Me: "You have to love Jesus and take vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience for the rest of your life."
3-year-old niece: "That sounds hard. I think I'll just ask for one for my birthday."
A police chief in Texas was brought to tears when he swore in a 6-year-old girl as an honorary officer. She has an incurable cancer, and wants to become a cop so she can fight the "bad guys in her body" 💖
I will never understand why some people think it's perfectly appropriate to ask their neighbors and random church friends to pray for them but think it's inappropriate to ask the Mother of God for prayers.
With a relic of Saint Thomas Aquinas in my pocket on the Feast of Saint Augustine, I officially passed my comps and have a Masters in Philosophy & Theology from
@BostonCollege
. I’m SO thankful and a little sad school’s over—for now. God is good. Thank you for your prayers! ❤️🖊📚
Some joyful news—on Friday, September 22nd, the first day of the novena to Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, we professed private vows and were officially recognized as a private association by Archbishop Sample of Portland, OR.
The pope meme is not funny. If you’re Catholic (or anyone who desires to have a modicum of respect for someone else’s deeply held religious beliefs) don’t tweet or retweet it.
I’m heading into my annual 8-day silent retreat that begins this evening. Please pray for me, I could use the prayer support. I’ll be praying for all of you. ❤️🙏
Every single person in this world struggles. Even people who appear fine and seem to be bubbly rays of sunshine. Life is a struggle. We’re all wounded sinners making our way through life. But we don’t struggle alone. Jesus is with us. The Body of Christ is with us.
You are loved

Just sitting here thinking about how I am so going to ugly cry if and when I can return to going to Mass every day. Lord, that I may never take it for granted again.
I will be on my monthly silent retreat tomorrow and will be praying for all of you and for your needs, worries, hopes, and other prayer intentions. ☠️❤️
I’m sitting near a Starbucks in the Chicago airport and one of the employees is loudly and operatically singing each person’s name and order details and people like that just have no idea how much they make the world a better place.
I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU JESUS.
The Christian should expect to be regularly crushed under the inexorable wheels of history until Jesus comes again. We are not here to be relevant, powerful, and understood. Our challenge is to simply remain faithful to the Gospel, to love our enemies, and to persevere in faith.
I wish I knew
@kanyewest
's address so I could send him a Memento Mori prayer book. He needs one before he gets in too deep with prosperity gospel trash. ☠️⚰️⏳
I posted a while ago about how I collect ordination cards to pray for priests like I used to collect
@Pirates
cards.
@MeLlamoTrevor
asked if I would pray for him too if he sent me his baseball card. I happily agreed. I wish I could tell this news to my 8-year-old self. 🤣⚾️

I’m taking a social media break. I’ll be on my annual silent retreat starting May 4. I’ll keep you all in prayer; please pray for me if you think of it. If you have a specific intention, feel free to leave it in the comments and I’ll log on before my retreat starts to read them.
Please join me in praying an Eternal Rest for someone I know who passed away from cancer. She was only in her 40s and left behind a young son. In your kindness, please keep her and her family in your prayers.
Saint Catherine of Bologna identified 7 weapons in the fight against the devil in her writings:
1. Diligence
2. Distrust of self
3. Confidence in God
4. Meditate on Jesus' passion and death
5. ☠️To remember that we must die ☠️
6. Focus on heaven
7. Be familiar with Scripture
You might notice I don’t talk about politics much. One reason is because my political viewpoint is Catholic & no political party fully represents the Catholic worldview. So you’ll never see me cheerleading for anything but Church teachings & Jesus. 1/4
If news and social media is not helping you to focus on holiness and God’s will for you right now, take a break. Go to adoration, get outside, go to a daily Mass, laugh and eat with friends.
God has a message and a place for you in the renewal of his Church, listen for it.
Please join me in praying for healing for all those wounded by representatives of the Church. May the Church root out and bring to justice all who abuse their power to do evil. Mary, Mother of God, pray for us and for the Church of Christ.
ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA. ALLELUIA.
Get the Alleluias out of your system before Lent starts!
I’m so blessed to live with wise sisters.
Me at dinner tonight: “I was not prepared for this scenario.”
91-year-old sister: “Me neither. No one was. But now we have to live it. You live long enough and you can count on one thing—life changes.”
@pursuedbytruth
If you read your bible dear sister then you will never worship mary or any of the saints. Follow Jesus it is He who will save your soul
Just thinking about how Saint Philip Neri once observed that one of his parishioners would regularly leave Mass right after Communion so he instructed two altar boys to follow him down the street with candles. 🤣 🕯
News agencies, please stop using *real* photos of nuns in habits alongside news reports of the two religious sisters caught embezzling. Would you use an unrelated photo of a real police officer to describe another police officer's crimes?
Please say a prayer for Sr. Charitas, one of our sisters who is preparing to meet Jesus soon. I just visited her room, it’s overflowing with sisters. We prayed the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, and sang songs to her in Latin & Italian. She has lived a beautiful life. God is good.
My 6-year-old niece was talking to a relative who does not believe in God and she asked, "Well who in the heck do you think made the trees and the sky?" After some back and forth she concluded, "Well, we'll just have to find out when we die won't we?" ☠️💛
I generally don't contribute to the "discourse" on Twitter but I recently added my experience of a verbally abusive priest in the confessional to a tweet thread and based on some of the inappropriate reactions I received, I just want to share some of my thoughts.
It’s been so difficult to be unable to go to Mass and receive Jesus. But today was *really* difficult. I’m praying for all of us who are mourning this loss as we enter into Holy Week.
Jesus, please help us all to live this Holy Week with peace and an abundance of your grace.
Please pray for Fr. Polycarp, priest in Maiduguri Diocese of Nigeria, who served in our Diocese for several years. He says he's hiding in the bush from Boko Haram with his students right now as the hospital and town square burn.
Please join me this Friday, August 17th, in a fast in reparation for the sins of clergy who have preyed on the vulnerable and those who have protected and enabled them. We also pray for justice and healing for the victims.
"Enjoy life Sister! Stop thinking about death."
I hear this all the time and I will say this again and again: Meditation on death is precisely what helps us to live life well and to find true happiness, in this world AND in the next. Fleeing death does not lead to happiness. ☠️
Haven't done this in a while soooooooo:
💀GO TO CHURCH💀
💀GO TO CHURCH 💀
💀GO TO CHURCH💀
GO TO CHURCH = GO SEE JESUS
You will not regret it on your deathbed.

Helpful hints to avoid calumny online:
1. Avoid adjectives/nouns to describe a person; argue against ideas
2. Don’t pretend to know causes of a person’s behavior
3. Avoid assuming intentions
4. Ask “Is this true?” but also “Am I called to say this; is it edifying?” see Rom 14:19
O holy Saint Joseph, who died in the arms of the Son of God and in the presence of Mary, please stand by all who are dying this day and assist them with your prayers. Amen.
In this time of great anxiety and fear, Satan has a plan to tempt us to despair and sin but God has a plan for our greater holiness.
Jesus, help us to trust in you!
My sympathies go out to everyone who is like me and wants to pray novenas but never finishes them. This is an especially stressful time of year for us all. 🙏

Big news:
I have compiled/wrote a prayer book—Memento Mori: Prayers on the Last Things—that will be coming out with
@PBMPublishing
in the fall. ☠️
Bigger news:
A censor returned the MS with an imprimatur and NO theological corrections. I am both pleased & slightly surprised. 🤣
JESUS WAS BORN TO SAVE US!
Merry Christmas to all of you. I’ll be praying for each one of you in a special way today. Please say a prayer for me! 🎄❤️☠️
Kid who looks like he’s around ten years old ran up to me,
@FatherSciarappa
(in a cassock), and
@FrHarrison
the other day as we were walking around Notre Dame campus for the
#frieND19
conference and yells, “You three look like saints!” Fr. Anthony replied, “We’re trying!”
Today, I emailed a professor to tell him I'd miss class because I'm sick.
His response began, "St. Aletheia...."
A few minutes later: "I realized I canonized you in my last email. I hope your illness isn't that serious!"
Sr. Caritas' list of all she would not regret doing if she died:
1 Do good
2 Don't speak ill
3 Reflect before speaking
4 Don't speak when agitated
5 Help less fortunate
6 Admit error
7 Be patient
8 Listen but don't tell
9 Don’t believe gossip
10 Prepare for death- underlined
The Holy Spirit’s fire is not just gentle tongues of flame, it’s also a raging, consuming, purifying fire that can root out sin, corruption, and evil.
Come Holy Spirit, inflame our hearts and purify our Church!🔥
The sisters in my convent have been working on making memento mori rosaries since they sold out. Our 91-year-old sister can’t help because of eyesight but she has started counting out ten beads and then standing over us until we finish each decade. We’ve been moving faster. 😂☠️
Please join me in an Eternal Rest for the police officers and our Jewish brothers and sisters who died today in the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburg.
Someone from Kerala, India sent me this picture of religious sisters escaping the floods. They are experiencing the worst natural disaster in almost a century and need prayers and support.
