touches on the radicalism of the late benjamin zephaniah. in particular, as israel continues its genocide in palestine, it remains important to highlight the departed revolutionary's solidarity with palestinians and opposition to occupation:
For millions, Benjamin Zephaniah will be remembered for first introducing poetry to their lives — but his unwavering commitment to anti-imperialist, anti-racist and working-class politics cannot be forgotten either.
when I was living with my rich housemate one day he casually asked his sister to transfer him two grand and it really sank in that no, we don't all have the same 24 hours
can't afford food? bag of pasta 5p. landlord physically assaulting you? must've not paid your rent. privatised rail extortionate? actually I think you'll find that's an open return and do you expect the taxpayer to fund your travel? welcome to britain and things can't get better
Behind every Piers Morgan, Katie Hopkins, Nick Ferrari and Andrew Neil are entire teams of producers, camera operators, social media managers, publicists, and everything in between
Link here to donate to the Ukrainian armed forces. I'd been really struggling with this, because my bank wasn't letting me exchange into Ukrainian currency. This makes it much easier.
was always told that going to uni would expand my horizons, but wasn't prepared for my first year housemate sticking a whole, unseasoned chicken breast in the oven on 200°C for 20 mins and eating it with pasta
seeing piers corbyn's arrest dominating the headlines and I can't forget that very recently the prime minister's dad was facing several public allegations of sexual assault which appear to have been quietly shelved by the press
Police arrest a Muslim woman after shouting "Free Palestine" outside our occupation. They threw her into a police van, drove her down the road, interrogated her, then released her on the condition she did not return to protest.

a vietnamese communist posted a picture with a plot of land given to them by the government and was immediately inundated with responses from ""leftists"" living in imperialist nations asking things like "heh, when is your government gonna allow independent unions" look at us man
In this C4 News exclusive footage, this is the moment police officer PC Oliver Banfield violently attacked a woman walking home at night in 2020.
She faced an uphill battle to get justice from the police forces involved.
man as a young person it's an unbelievably bleak state of affairs to be held hostage by a demographic who mercilessly protect the gains they recieved growing up and actively vote against even the mildest of improvements to our lives
Priti Patel is considering removing the right to anonymity on social media to tackle online MP abuse.
78% of Brits think everybody should have to disclose their identity when signing up, with 37% saying it should have to be displayed on the profile
lab/tories: we're going to have to learn to live with covid
us: ah okay, so that means increased sick pay, economic support for those unable to work due to covid (perhaps scrap UC and replace it w/an improved system), maybe some sort of pay rise for NHS staff?
lab/tories: no
you have to admire the man. donny was hounded out of politics by the united forces of the gutter press and his own political party but continues to campaign on the streets on behalf of the little guy - on the day of a royal funeral nonetheless. what has your labour MP done today?
Campaigning for homes for all. Islington Council tried to buy these ex Pentonville prison staff flats as council homes. Tory government are selling to the private sector.

Congratulations to

- the first First Minister of an ethnic minority background is a significant moment for Scotland.
The SNP do not have the answers on the NHS or on the cost of living crisis.
Only Labour can provide the change that Scotland needs.
look a corbyn government would take us back to the winter of discontent where everything was shit but I heard that you can't afford to heat your house now and that reminds me of the winter of discontent when everything was amazing and we loved it actually
I’m new to football, but the scenes on the tele suggest everyone is already absolutely hammered. How will they not pass out before the game in like, what, 5 hours!?
Many of the Marxist WOKE MOB have been casting doubt on my authenticity as a true RED BLOODED ENGLISHMAN 🇬🇧🏴 Well here's proof that CARLING runs through my veins and I will be making a FULL ENGLISH using BRITISH EGGS in memory of are Philip 🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🏴
when you see politicians over here 'celebrating' the derek chauvin guilty verdict, just remember that not a single police officer has been succesfully prosecuted for deaths in police custody since 1971
when faced with young black kids nicking bottles of water and basmati rice starms was doing up 24 hour courts and dishing out hefty sentences as DPP. faced with a murderous, eugenicst tory party the guy just wants an apology for their christmas party 🤷🏾♂️
@guardian
black people pointing out systemic injustices faced by the black community has made many white people in this country uncomfortable. this is just "if we just stopped talking about race, we wouldn't have these problems" in another form
@GISELLE_HGC
very bizzare that your first thought isn't 'she's alone and passed out, I hope she's okay', rather you choose to moralise about whether or not she's 'classy'. odd behaviour
I utterly condemn the ongoing attacks on Israel and her citizens.
There is no justification for this act of terror which is being perpetrated by those who seek to undermine any chance for future peace in the region.
Israel has a right to defend herself.
gotta say something really stinks about middle class students in leeds living in working class communities like hyde park and referring to them as 'shitholes' while simultaneously trashing the area and not cleaning up after themselves
this sort of sentiment will essentially be the discourse for a while and I expect it to be nurtured and directed by the press and political establishment
crazy you can write stuff like this while living in the imperial core of one of the most brutal, repressive empires of all time and not wonder whether an 'absence of historical reckoning' over here has had any effect on you
If you really don’t like the Queen nor respect her service… why don’t you give up your Jubilee bank holiday, in her name, for something more worthwhile?
*tories kill hundreds of thousands via austerity, COVID*
libs: 😴😴😴
*downing street has a party breaking The Rules*
libs: excuse ✋🏻 me mr prime minister 🤓 but you are in breach of the law ⚖ and I shall be informing the police 👮♂️
nelson mandela founded a designated terrorist organisation and he and his comrades were tried for 221 'militant acts' by the South African government, including several bombings. today he and his struggle is held up by the liberal media as a beloved and venerated figure
social media and their low prices has a lot of people convinced that aldi is some plucky little working class underdog going up against the posho tory M&S. meanwhile they have nearly 10x the revenue and 11x as many stores
how does one get so deeply brain poisoned to such an extent where they can't help but insert their hatred of trans people into every single scenario? depression? transitioning. it's nuts man
whenever i see someone talking about nato being a 'defensive alliance' and advocating for 'humanitarian intervention' I'm reminded how they deliberately targeted libya's water irrigation system and then bombed the factories responsible for developing + maintaining it
you know there's been another racist incident involving the royal family when they start wheeling out the 'break
glass in case of emergency' black people
he's a sweet old man but david attenborough's analysis of climate change is serious bad vibes. no critique of how our political economic system is one of the core drivers, instead a bunch of personal responsibility and ecofascist overpopulation myths
walked into a pub in glasgow with my family and there might as well have been a record scratch the way that place instantly fell silent. entire pub swivelled to stare at us
If the police officer suspected of murdering Sarah Everard was an undercover officer in the line of duty, under the Covert Human Intelligence Sources Bill he would be protected from prosecution
Much less importantly, but: I am occasionally taken to be Jewish, and I wonder whether that was why I was pressed on this. I would like to be able to go to my local, and more importantly would like Jewish friends and neighbours to feel able to do so without interrogation.
the sad reality of being a young conservative (in 6th form no less) is that you have to spend your time actively agitating against a better future for yourself and your peers, all for the approval of bald middle aged men and (if you're lucky) a callup to some racism factory
faced with an objectively good piece of socialist policy (land reform), why is that your first respose? the real enemy is at home, these lot should be focused on dismantling their own imperialist countries rather than attacking those who have sacrificed to build what they have
hello Blacks, I'm a White Guy (who is definitely sympathetic to your cause) and I've just got a little tip, why don't you have a think about changing up your anti-racist gesture to something that me and my mates at the racism factory are a bit more comfortable with?
the suffragettes attacked parliament, smashed windows and physically assaulted politicians, including winston churchill. they waged a ferocious bombing and arson campaign targeting politicians including PM Asquith. today they deified by the liberal commentariat
you don't get to say this part without mentioning how 40% of british state expenditure compensated human traffickers for their lost "property" (finally paid off in 2015) and the apprenticeship system meant that de facto slavery continued long after its abolition
The woke kids using the Queen's death to dunk on the British Empire probably don't know that Britain banned slavery in all regions of its empire long before the US Civil War, via laws passed in 1807 & 1833. It was empire that enabled this sweeping reform.
I don’t think people fully understand the consequences of Sinn Fein’s success. We’re witnessing the impending and I think now inevitable collapse of the United Kingdom..
did an interesting exercise in a school where i had two slides - one with pictures of black american civil rights/black power figures and one with their black british counterparts. the students knew all of the americans and i got blank stares for the black brits.
