for the last night of my play. There’s too many people to thank, family, friends, all kinds of people from different spheres. Thank you everybody.
It’s very hurtful. My PhD took 5 yrs of hard work. It was not handed to me. It’s certainly not an honorary. So many people assume I’m thick because of my CP. .... big mistake!
Thanks for all of the support. I’m over the moon, I passed my Viva. I’m really, really proud. Thanks to my family, my community and all the brilliant people in my life, R x

They said I was ‘useless, good for nothing’. They put me on the corner of Abbey street rattling a box. Very emotional to have my work on in the National theatre. Thanks to so many people who reached out and helped me on this journey.
In relation to Dermot Kennedy’s comment- Over the weekend I was harassed by a journalist to make a comment. The journalist wouldn’t leave me alone. My only comment on this matter is “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks”.
Despite all the sniggering at Leo’s visit to the Choctaw nation, recognizing First Nations people is important and respectful. It would be great if Leo would meet Traveller organizations. We have done our bit for Irish history and culture.

It is a very proud moment for me. Emotional political & cultural. Thanks so much to
@PaveePoint
for this empowering Traveller feminist analysis you give me.
Appalled and disappointed. The new advisory committee on women and women’s stories in the national cultural collections. No deaf women. No disabled women. No Traveller women. Respect & recognition doesn’t apply to us. Our histories are rich and dynamic when it comes to surviving.
👩🏻🦽👩🏼🦽👩🏽🦽 This is for the disabled girls and women who have things done to them & intuitively know what’s going to happen to them. Thanks for all the support and the courageous people who took time to hear us. Never underestimate what we can do when the pressure is on.

I'm not a drinker- tonight I'm crushing ginger into whiskey, raising my glass to a Traveller woman who was married at 14. Had 20 children: lived with violence. Her church, the law & health system ignored her. My mother made me a feminist-

It’s about politics, human rights, diversity ,identity & equality. It’s also about friendships, history and seeing and hugging people that I haven’t seen for a long time! Today was really important in so many ways.

Nursing homes. Much of my twenties was spent living in a nursing home. Alongside older ppl, there are many ppl with disabilities/impairments living in nursing homes and residential centres due to the housing crisis. It must be very frightening for them at the moment.
Thanks for the kind words and wishes with regards to my article, in particular huge gratitude to the many Traveller women on and off Twitter that reached out. Overwhelmed is not a strong enough word. RMD
The pundits, the media & the political ones, they can’t even give us credit for the role we played. All the technical legal language. There needs to be a cultural shift in their vocabulary. It was disabled women.
@nwci
I'm overwhelmed by your public solidarity for my community Traveller & Roma. Honoured to be a board member . NWCI you make me want to be a better feminist.
We in NWCI would like to take this opportunity once again to express our solidarity with our member organisations and the wider Traveller and Roma community in rejecting racism. All forms of discrimination are unacceptable.

Also people spitting. Its pure disgusting & bad manners, but mostly dangerous. Wheelchair user like me don’t want Saliva on our hands or wheels

RIP lovely woman writer. Thanks for writing back to me. I asked you many silly questions- u responded with enthusiasm, respect and an enormous amount of that overused word, love. Courage is what I think when reading your work. You were a gift to the world x
Sexism very much part of disability services. Patriarchy thrives in the majority of disability NGOS. Racism, sexism & ableism is my reality. My job is to support all women in the choices they make. “To strive” is insulting & infantilising. Respect for dignity & diversity is lost.
@AbbeyTheatre
The cleaners, the security, the admin, the ushers, the people in the box office, technicians, lighting, sound, captioning, the camera people who do the streaming, hair and make up, assistant director, marketing, all of you - thanks for making my play work.
I met Tom Hickey once in the

he sat beside me. The play was a sad one . He took my hand, gave a crumpled cotton hanky & whispered “don’t be crying out loud- the actors are doing their work”Rip Mr Hickey
Being a feminist is complex. Feminism has compromised many of us. This suits patriarchy. Feminism struggles with intersectionality. Access to women's services for Deaf & Disabled woman is problematic.

I’m just sick of this. There’s so much money floating around in the Arts, and yet so many of us excluded. I really would like to attend.

a Traveller man who shared my journey- who gave love, passion & pride - found this world too hostile & difficult - he sought peace else where. Rest easy my love . RIP x

. It is so frustrating in this day and age, I go into a public disabled bathroom, no tampax or condom machines...I don’t understand. Disabled bodies matter! Women’s bodies matter!

Cerebral palsy. Pejoratively know as ( spastic) but I’m reclaiming that word. Give it back it’s true meaning- which is - spectacularly brilliant-

respect to all actors - Octaroon- white actors nominated over black actors says so much about Irish theatre - An all white settled able bodied judging panel - stinks of racism & unconscious bias “ appalling “
Community activists, including our Roma Programme, gathered at Irish Museum of Modern Art event tonight to remember the women who have died as a result of male violence in Ireland since 1996. Also included was a reading from 'Unsettled' by Rosaleen McDonagh

In every war and famine it is minorities and disabled people who are targeted. Solidarity with Roma & Tatars in Ukraine who are being targeted are unlikely to gain refuge.

New advisory committee on women & womens stories in the national cultural collections.
Our histories of segregation. The narrative of Irish womens sign language. Activism. Art. Documenting our reality. The Voilence. The great & the good get to tell their stories. Who tells ours?

For Traveller women, for Deaf women and for women with all kinds of impairments! We are strong, we bear witness but mostly we figure out how to do things our way.

feeling completely ridiculed & humiliated. Once again, Traveller identity was laughed at, charactured & ridiculed by a settled production for a settled audience. Please take me off your guest list. Shame on you!

my bedroom wall a beautiful oil painting. It was sent to me by a trans person who is a Traveller. A poem is hung next to the oil painted red rose. We have never met. The emails & letters are in a velvet box. Casey I hope ur safe & loved deeply. Rx
I have always loved Michael’s ideas and solidarity with Travellers Disabled people, especially his absolute respect for diverse women. He is pure decent & full of humanity
