Micah Bernard, one of Utah's RB's who had 523 yds rushing and 251 yds receiving during the reg season, led the defense in the Rose Bowl in both solo (9) and total (10) tackles while playing corner for the 1st time in his collegiate career. Oh, he also caught a TD in the game.

Recap: Oregon has an incredible offense - on paper. They've faced 3 of the 15 worst defenses in the nation, and the best defense they've played is Texas Tech, who is #60 in the nation total yards allowed/game (366.5). Utah is #14 (295.4/gm) and they've won 27 straight at home.

Oregon State held under 150 yards rushing at home for the first time since 2019. Utes offense with QB4, RB2, TE2, etc., etc., just couldn't get it going. Two weeks should help in a lot of ways. With injuries to Barnes and NJ, Utes might have to hold a tryout during the bye.

Quick thoughts on Utah's O vs UCLA: -Utes were up 14-0, and coaches decided to literally run out the clock -If it was 28-14 this wouldn't seem as unusual -Nate Johnson fumbled 3x, and had 2 near INTs -To prevent a crippling TO, coaches went with Glover and D -Ugly, but it worked

2023 was quite possibly the most frustrating season for Ute fans. In a season that was supposed to be Utah "running it back" with playoff aspirations, it ended with an embarrassing 14-7 loss to Northwestern in Las Vegas for an 8-5 finish. Here's to good health in 2024.

I am seeing concern that Utah has had so many guys go in the portal but no one has committed to the Utes...it's ok, not many have chosen new schools yet. Yes, Utah has 14 guys in the portal...but that also means they have 14 guys they can bring in. Be patient, they will come.

Utes SS/RB Sione Vaki has averaged 12 carries for 113 yards and a TD on the ground and 3 catches for 72 yards and a TD receiving since switching to a two-way player. He's averaging 9.3 yards per carry and 24 yards per catch. He's also averaging a touchdown every 7.5 touches 👀
