On 11/15/22, TLC voted to raise FHV driver pay rates. Uber has sued the city to strike down the rules, & a judge has stopped the rates from taking effect until the lawsuit is resolved. TLC is appealing and aggressively fighting to move forward with the rule.

For-hire vehicles grew from 40k in 2010 to to 120k in NYC today. Emissions from TLC-licensed vehicles increased by 62% from 2013-2018 -- largely from the rise in app cars. Limiting the number of FHVs and empty cruising will improve bus speeds and decrease pollution.
