I lost my job today bc I’m too disabled to offer my boss more hours, so he decided it wasn’t worth keeping me anymore. So I’m now unemployed once again. Too disabled to keep a job, not disabled enough to be on DSP. I don’t know how I’m going to afford to live.

Was told just the other day by my DES consultant that they can’t and will not do phone appointments, only face-to-face. I questioned it, because I knew this was incorrect, but she didn’t say why, just that she can’t do them by phone, even if it would be “easier for everyone”.

Yesterday I caught a rideshares to and from the shops, and used a wheelchair for the first time ever. Later that day when I came home, I had a sob and said to my partner “I didn’t know going out could be that easy/forgiving”. Mobility aids are empowering, not holding us back.
