I have been to rural areas in Afghanistan (30 provinces since 2005, many areas not fully accessible by road) I met Afghans who were mostly conservative, yes. But on their own Afghan terms. This is not conservative vs liberal. This is Afghan culture vs Taliban ideology.

A big American organization is asking Afghan women to share their stories for a book. I almost forwarded this to some women in terrible situations. Then I saw that submissions chosen, will compensate the Afghan women $25. There is apparently, no limit to the disrespect.
