I had my oldest at 14. I needed an emergency c section Before going to theatre, the Drs and midwives were having an arguement about who had to consent. Some felt my parents, others said “I was old enough to get into this mess, so I should.” I’ll never forget those words

One thing often misunderstood about anorexia is the cost. Yes, I eat but because I only eat certain foods, so, my shopping bill is higher to accommodate for this. We need to stop thinking people with anorexia do not eat at all. They’d be dead. @beat #anoexia

@DrNeenaJha @JimBethell As a med student, my future is looking bleak. More competition for training Less locum positions More non-medics in favour of medics Less work What am I meant to do when I am halfway through my training and I have a family? Not as easy for us to up and move long term

@gmbarnard22 Agreed. This would also greatly do wonders for those with suicidal thoughts and low moods as often night time is the worst. A place to get out of the house that is safe and grab a cuppa may help whilst also take pressure off of stretched services

@BENNODOOM @KatyMontgomerie How exactly this person was able to get into teaching and stay in teaching (yes I can see he was fired) with views like this is shocking

@lawyerstan @DrHelenWall @SusanHa93945327 Some practices have 10,000 patients to a few GP’s. You do the maths. Hence this Dr is encouraging you to contact your MP to ask for increased training spaces for GP’s. That is out of her remit. Do not come online and abuse NHS staff when they’re working under extreme pressure

@MsBethanJ At this rate, I’d just like to get hold of my son’s medication without trouble. It’s becoming a regular concern, considering the difference it has on his ability to function

Another month, another palava sorting my son’s #ADHD meds as each brand is either not in stock or a different strength is required so the script is bounced back. This is not acceptable. He can’t function without them. It’s been like this for months. Med shortages affect lives

@adamfare1996 Tw suicide This is so right! When I came round in ITU is was angry. The suicidal thoughts didn’t go away! They decided that I was ok to go home and not be sectioned and then I kept expressing intent to the crisis team. It took 5 weeks for the thoughts to “die down”

@latina_drtobe I was a teenage mum, experiences domestic abuse, have been on benefits, worked for minimum wage and returned to college last year. Now training to be a doctor. I’m definitely not your “typical” med student but I can relate to a huge proportion of the population!

@DrNotDrYet_Jacq Was thinking yesterday how damaging slimming world was to me. Calling food synful makes u relate it to something bad. The healthy extra just encourages measuring. It’s also not sustainable. There’s reasons why so many people yo-yo diet. Sitting discussing loss/gain is not ideal

I can’t be the only person who hand washes their dishes in 2024? I also prefer to hand write notes rather than type. What else do you do that rejects technology? #2024 #technoreject
