Figured out why MEV exists & how to prevent it. There are 2 markets for ordering in a chain. Ordering TXs in blocks, a fee market, & blocks in the chain, a hash market. These orthogonal competing markets causes MEV to compromise chain security. Unifying them fixes it @QuaiNetwork

Today I learned how expensive it is to run a distributed set of 94 nodes around the world to simulate the @QuaiNetwork testnet. Even though the cost of the nodes is only $400 per day, when you are doing 2,000 transactions per second, the data can be $3,000 per day.

@Justin_Bons The issue is that PoS never actually becomes immutable. The only cost of reverting a transaction is getting a majority to cooperatively resign blocks. This is trivial when 2/3 of ETH staking is controlled by three parties all beholden to FAFTA, Janet Yellen and the FED.

@DeFi_Made_Here What if you made a stable that was linked to price of electricity by emitting it proportional to hashrate? You then pair it w/ the protocol store of value token by allowing conversion. This allows the supply to expand and contract w/ demand making the stable track electricity.

2/5 All PoS mechanism require the collection of many signatures to create a Quorum. This means that to reach consensus the nodes have to talk with each other back and forth many times. This means that it takes time for all nodes to get into consensus thus limiting throughput.

4/5 Fun Fact! The entropy weight actually measures the number of hashes that would be needed, in expectation, to reproduce a chain of equal weight. This is why PoEM is perfectly suited for a merged-mined hierarchy with multiple block types and asynchronous chain progression.

@adam3us All “loopholes” in open markets will eventually be “exploited”. If it’s artificially discounting block space for segwit #BTC or refunding gas for destroying contracts #ETH . Inefficient market design will be taken advantage of no matter the designers intent.

@travelingenes Nice documentary. The only thing I would say is you should have more focus on seed oils. That is clearly the 90% of the problem. Communicate this one thing rather than diluting with discussion of sugars & processed foods. Also, did you know seed oils have up to 0.1% hexane?
