Over the past 70 years the US stock market has been a darling, outperforming foreign stocks by 1% per year. $10k invested in US stocks in 1950 turned into $14 million vs. only $8m in foreign stocks. Want to know how much of that outperformance has come since 2009? All of it.

The lesson here is not "Wall Street is manipulating the system" The lesson here is you need a better broker. Preferably one that doesn't sell your order flow and shut down your trading and keep your short rebates and keep your cash interest. But hey, free trades.

1. Investing based on dividend yield alone is a tax-inefficient and nonsensical investment strategy.

Politicians: if you really wanted to make a difference, instead of chasing this stock buyback boogeyman, maybe legislate something useful? Teach personal finance and investing in high school.

Y'all. ARK expects innovation companies to go from total market cap of "roughly $14 trillion today to more than $200 trillion in 2030." The ENTIRE global stock market today is $109 trillion (their stat).

As the decade nears its end, always a good time to reflect. When you sit down with your broker or advisor, here’s a few questions to ask: 1. Do we own funds that cost > 1%? If so, why? 2. Do we pay trading commissions? If so, why? 3. Do we earn 2% on our cash? If not, why not?

"How do you invest?" Always funny to hear people respond: "I'm boring, I invest in the S&P 500" If by boring you mean stocks actively selected by a committee, huge home country bias, no real assets, no bonds, no tether to valuation, no trend. Boring is not the word I would use
