Being different matters when it comes to branding and messaging. But how different does your brand or product need to be? Too little, and you'll blend into the crowd. Too much, and you'll be seen as too far of a reach.👇

If you're wondering why FordCo won't back down on the mega-spa for Ontario Place, it's simple: it's about the money. Money that construction companies will get. Money that PC MPPs will make as "advisors" post-politics. Money for PC-supporting consultants like Mark Saunders.

@jen_keesmaat They're shameless. Developers must be rubbing their hands in glee!

@jen_keesmaat The 413 is a real estate play. Build a highway that likely isn't needed, and then watch all his developer friends buy the real estate around it. Money!

@BramptonGraham @LucilleCollard @PrabSarkaria To be clear, Ontario doesn't need a highway (413) that goes through the Greenbelt while there's no evidence the highway would generate the benefits that the PCs proclaim. That's the story, Graham.

@TDotResident Maybe the new environment minister should focus on protecting the Greenbelt, restoring environmental rules eliminated by the PCs and allowing Conservation Authorities to have input on development.

@shawnmicallef Wonders never cease. What’s the real relationship between Doug Ford and @ThermeGroup ? It feels much more than the MegaSpa, which is secret deal that no one wants despite unsubstantiated proclamations from @JohnPerenack

@jen_keesmaat The fact Verster’s contract was renewed tells you a lot of what you need to know about accountability.

@MacLeodLisa @BonnieforLeader @OntarioPlace How does your government define "consultation"? What were the other bids, and why can't the public see them? What are the terms of the 95-year lease? So many questions but no answers or transparency. FWIW, Ontario is not rotting.

@JohnPerenack @bruce_arthur How many Ontarians have you talked to? Where are the glowing video testimonials? How do you reconcile the massive opposition to the MegaSpa and the complete lack of transparency? I'd love to see independent research about the MegaSpa at Ontario Place....if it exists.

@ONPlace4All Another example is how FordCo doesn't listen to the people or care what they think or want. It's a government mostly focused on serving the needs of special interests like developers while accepting no or little publication consultation.

@ONPlace4All @DiamondSchmitt can work as furiously as it wants, but it can't fix the reality that a privately-owned mega-spa on the waterfront is a bad idea. Why is it so hard for FordCo & Therme to see that moving the spa to Woodbine or The Exhibition is better? #OntarioPlace

@yelich_ivana 340 acres over 10 years. PCs: 7400 acres from a flawed process with little consultation

@shawnmicallef @DiamondSchmitt @DiamondSchmitt is missing the point. A MegaSpa on prime (publicly-owned) waterfront real estate makes no sense. Does Ontario Place need to be revitalized? Absolutely? But there are better, more accessible options than a spa. ButFordCo won't let anyone see the other proposals.

@JohnLorinc @ThermeCanada No matter how Therme wants to leverage PR, the spa will dominate Toronto's waterfront. It's incredible that any government would allow this to happen. There has to be a story about who's making money from this thing.
