In english “feeling sorry” is surely a legit phrase, but when rawly translated into Indonesian “merasa maaf” doesn’t make any sense at all. So probably that’s why Indonesian apology doesn’t feel as genuine because we don’t know how to actually feel sorry. We just say it.
