@Loubramley
@E_Rowley

Great pleasure 2 spend some time this morning with 60 children from foundation year. Discussed how amazing being a nurse is (also included some public health messages). 🤞some recruits for our profession

Today I had the great pleasure to speak with 60 foundation year children at a local school about being a nurse. Loads of fantastic questions, engagement, and excitement at bandaging practice. Thank you Louise Kirk
@Loubramley
- they loved the books.
@CNOEngland
We as nurses must come together & challenge these misconceptions of what registered nurses are and are not. Nursing is an art and science. To have the best possible outcomes & exp 4 our patients and families this needs 2 b intelligent, compassionate, competent care

Two (!) letters
@thetimes
today continue to perpetuate the (false) allegation about the ‘disaster’ of a graduate-only profession. We need to promote contemporary nursing for what it really is and why it is a fabulous career

Hugest congratulations to
@liz_dodds
who passed her PhD upgrade review with flying colours today. We (
@SarahRedsell
, Prof Stephen Timmons, and I) are very proud of you. We celebrated in style with coffee and cake - here’s to the next 4 years (part time) 🥳
My beautiful nan passed away in a nursing home recently. I just couldn’t stop thinking about who was with her at the end...it broke my heart
Today, I received a pillow made from nanas nightdress, hand sown by the nurse who held her hand as she passed
And now I know she was ok❤️
Great 2 spend time yesterday to visit Bramcote Hills Primary with
@K_E_Manning
2 talk about being a nurse. Fantastic engagement frm foundation yr: what nurses do, where they work, how to keep safe & healthy, & bandaging practise. Lots of aspirant nurses 😁

@LucyStn
This is despicable behaviour and should not be tolerated. You are doing an amazing job and no one should be exposed to abuse or threats. United we stand as nurses.
@CNOEngland
Time for me to reflect on my leadership (daddy) shadow as this was left on my desk by my 4 year old daughter. Her feedback is important - I will use this to focus on personal growth.

"We try not to eat a lot in one day, even though most of us are really hungry."
Almost 1 in 3 children in the UK are now growing up poor, like Cameron and his two sisters whose family rely on a food bank to help fill the fridge.
2/2: we need 2 move away from this destructive discourse of what duties r superior. As a profession we need nurses that provide clinical care, advanced practice, education, research & leaders across the board in order 2 improve outcomes. All r integral 2 our profession

@STJTurnface
1/2: I agree completely. Whilst I was still training I knew I wanted to be a clinical academic nurse and whilst this career pathway was not clearly defined I knew this is what I wanted to do. So my advice: dream big, be ambitious, and bring others (hearts and minds) with you.
🌟 Welcome to our First Professor of Nursing and Child Health! 🌟
