I wrote about my never-ending battles with health insurance companies, and how they are objectively worse than the chronic condition I suffer from.
This is my healthcare story, and it shows why the US should move towards Medicare For All.
Yesterday a guy in a Blue Lives Matter hat crossed our picket line. When told, "the store's closed." He responded, "I don't care I'm law enforcement." He then pulled on a locked door and slipped on ice. I can't prove it but I like to think he pooped his pants a bit when he fell
This is the most racist depiction of Arabs I've seen on modern television.
A group of Arabs "is planning the next intifada", but that doesn't stop Larry David from sexualizing the woman. Then he calls her an antisemite.
Absolutely unhinged.
TIL Jack Ryan was a real CIA analyst, though he was far from the gung-ho soldier depicted in propaganda.
In actuality, he refused to spy on leftists groups and was forced in to homelessness.
It also shows the Zionist self-victimization. They're happily welcomed and fed at the restaurant and no one is giving them dirty looks. Yet, they claim they're "the only Jews who have ever been here."
Insanity, from top to bottom.
At the end of the episode, the vote passes, and everyone sees how better their life is.

This tweet is everything wrong with the "anti-DSA crowd"
- An "org beyond repair" because it has a DEMOCRATIC process
-"first meeting in a year" and wonders why their policy isn't shared.
today, i attended a DSA general chapter meeting— my first in a year— where they voted 71-14 against discussing expulsion of AOC, jamaal bowman and cori bush. 80% unwilling to even discuss the idea. i gave up hope long ago, but i’m now certain the DSA as an org is beyond repair.
The warehouse needs no convincing. Years of sacrificing their bodies for shareholder profit results in a unanimous Yes. (But, Roy does try to convince Pam he voted Yes for her artwork.) They're an integral part of convincing white-collar workers the owners are exploitative.
Michael wouldn't realize corporate wants him to bust the Union until the 1st commercial. He then tries to break the drive while remaining "cool" to his employees.
Eventually, he supports the effort, but not before saying something sad like "I wish my family had a union."
Phillis is a No because her fiancee (Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration) hates Unions ever since his employees formed one after "the crushing incident."
When Pam comes organizing, Stanley asks "will I make more money?" without raising his head. The answer is "Yes," so he's a Yes.
Gets super depressed because he wants everyone to like him, but Corporate forces him to give an anti-union talk. During the presentation, Michael asks "if Toby had a union, maybe his wife wouldn't have left." Toby kind of agrees and votes Yes.
Accounting. Angela is a No but Oscar is a Yes. They spend the episode fighting over Kevin's vote, but he never understands what a Union is. Eventually, Oscar wins him over because Unions protect LGBTQ rights.
Dwight would come in disguise trying to trick coworkers into voting No. He's convinced his beet-fueled Alpha mindset is the key to his success and thinks a union will help his lazy coworkers mooch off him.
Also, he wants to fire 80% of the office and knows a Union won't allow it
Pam would enthusiastically support Yes, as more days off would mean she could focus on her art. As she rallies votes, she's naive to Dunder Mifflin's union-busting. Corporate is able to convince employees "No" just bc how annoying Pam is being about it.
Jim would goof off and "believe" Dwight's disguise, as he can't admit to himself Dunder Mifflin is his career and a Union would materially improve his life.
After a week of childish hijinks (alliance!), he has a come-to-Jesus moment and votes Yes (also wants to impress Pam).
Denver’s STAR program - a non-police response unit that handles mental health issues - significantly reduced cost AND crime in just 2 years. This is what we mean when we say defund the police. There are better ways to handle human crisis than cops
As Pam's whiteboard tally counts the votes, Ryan goes back and forth from Yes, to No, to Yes, always trying to be in the "out" crowd to seem edgy. He also uses the opportunity to wax poetic about his misunderstanding of Karl Marx and Adam Smith. Kelly just follows him.
Hey
@DenverPolice
do officers get this shirt after committing a mass shooting on Larimer street? Or do they have to tear down a certain number of homeless camps first?
If you can, please donate to the survivors of the mass shooting at a gay club in CO Springs, and remember to fight anti LGBTQ bigotry no matter what form it takes
Karen's a No. She tries to convince Jim that Unions are for "underachievers" (like Pam), and he should cast his lot with "successful" people like herself. Votes No, and immediately learns corporate cut her salary to pay for the expensive lawyers they hired to bust the drive.

has only played 2 years in the NFL, he isn't entitled to:
- Post-career health insurance
- Disability benefits
- Life Insurance
- Pension
- Life Improvement plans
If we truly care about the health of players, these benefits should be guaranteed on day 1
Absolutely ruthless. Tries to shut down the whole branch, but only doesn't when Michael threatens to withhold sex. Goes home and drinks a bottle of wine every night while telling herself she's doing the right thing and she's actually a girl boss.
The rotten heart of American politics is that we've allowed the positions of "give hungry children free lunch" and "don't give hungry children free lunch" to be viewed as morally equivalent.
They are not. One is virtuous. One is abhorrent.
I'm usually a staunch defender of civil liberties, but there's a compelling public case to lock GRRM in a room with nothing but pen and paper until Winds of Winter is complete.

Seeing a lot of Conan love on the timeline, so I’d like to shout him out for doing something no other late night host would do – going to refugee camps in the West Bank and actually talking to Palestinians.
A guy called me a "terrorist lover" at the gym. He was mad about my Free Palestine shirt.
Why does a call for freedom threaten him? The shirt is a dove, a peace sign, and a heart-shaped flag.
If these icons threaten you, you should ask yourself what you're fighting for.
Historically, National Review has:
1. Supported apartheid South Africa,
2. Praised Francisco Franco,
3. Criticized MLK.
All trends point to supporting trans folks as being on the right side of history.

In what world were Palestinians offered statehood in the 40s?
Do they mean the UN partition that Israel destroyed with the Nakba?
We’re all dunking on her, but this is what Zionism ACTUALLY believes – someone born in the UK/US has the right to take the home of a Palestinian.
Yes, Eve is crazy. But no crazier than Netanyahu, Biden, or any other Zionist.

For those wondering, Philly PD dropped a firebomb on a MOVE (Black Liberation Group) "compound" (it was a house) and killed hundreds.
I wrote about it here:

Ask anyone "who painted Starry Night?" and they'll say, Van Gough. But he painted it in a hospital, so he didn't own the paper, paint, and brushes used to create it.
Yet we still give VG credit, because we know it was the labor that created art, not the owner of the instruments.
This is how genocides start. “We need to do it to them before they do it to us” is the prerequisite for history’s worst atrocities. This is terrifying.
Elon, who is a Capitalist, tries to reduce class conflict to "woke vs. non-woke" for his own interests. By perpetuating the notion this is the principal division in society, he is staving off labor challenges that would cost him money.
A few years ago I read Dave Rubin's book. I must say, it was the most incoherent collection of words I have ever seen in my life.
My readers and I had a great time making fun of Rubin, here:

Good for the people of Arizona, and props to Governor Hobbs!

I think he was the first to bring a veneer of intellectualism to the anti-social justice movement. No one could say "women with pink hair upset me," so Shaprio gave them a "real" critique with "facts don't care about your feelings" shtick.
For the “it’s not racist” crowd: the Palestinians cheer when Larry wrestles off Funkhouser’s yamaka. Then when Larry asks “What’s not to like (about me)?” the woman responds “You’re a Jew.”
Seems like they’re painting Palestinians with a broad brush!
Unfortunately banning pitbulls won’t work. The only thing that stops a bad pitbull is a good pitbull. This is why every school teacher must be armed with a pitbull, so they can release it to fight any (bad) pitbulls that get into the school.
