HUGE sewage discharge into the River Brent in Ealing. Over 15 hours and still dumping! The Brent feeds into the Thames. This is one of the longest discharges I have seen in London from Thames Water. Absolutely disgusting.

Three years ago Winchmore Hill Green was basically a sleepy car park with little footfall. After full pedestrianisation it’s now a thriving centre for the community, and businesses are delighted. #PedestrianisationWorks and if you’re a Councillor, push for it in your patch!

Delighted that the Fox Lane Low Traffic Neighbourhood is now permanent. It’s taken a while following an initial design that was redesigned using community feedback. And now the LTN residents, including the boundary roads, gave their majority approval by a clear 8% margin. 🧵 1/6

Pleased to read the judgment this afternoon from Mr Justice Eyre concerning the Fox Lane LTN where each of the grounds and the claim made against the Council were dismissed. I hope it reassures residents that the Council took a balanced view when making the Fox Lane LTN permanent

Rishi Sunak’s constituency has a few LTNs in it that I fully expect to see in his new ‘review’. Take this filter on Quaker’s Lane in Richmond. Installed after 2016 the bollards protect the entire area from rat-running - an ideal LTN. Will he now demand its removal?

Managed to find a couple of hours to cycle down🚲and have a peek around Haringey’s fantastic new St Ann’s LTN. What a game changer! I remember Black Boy Lane being a truly awful rat-run and it’s now safe to cycle and walk down, as are the other roads across the LTN. 🧵1/4

Just cycled through Bounds Green LTN for the 1st time and what a difference it makes! South Palmerston Road used to be so dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists as speeding rat-runners used it as a bypass for Green Lanes. Now safety restored. Thank you @mikehakata @perayahmet

The total costs for the failed ULEZ challenge to the five Tory authorities (Hillingdon, Bexley, Bromley and Harrow, plus Surrey County Council) were £730,941. £730,941 for a political stunt. What a shameful waste of money in a cost of living crisis.

Sad to see the traffic-chasers out today making statements that local residents feel they have to correct. Also back to blaming congestion at one of the busiest junctions in Enfield on the LTNs - it has been like this for decades and needs road user charging to offer relief.
