It took 96 weeks and thousands of volunteers to clean up Versova Beach in Mumbai, India. The payoff? Hundreds of thousands of seaturtles hatching this week. First time in decades. Anything can be cleaned!

I watched two days of that QF match at Kotla and was so thrilled to watch a young boy playing with and against stalwarts.
@KirtiAzaad
scored 186 in that match, was out stumped going for a third consecutive six, I remember.
Not one to ‘network’ or boast. The respect earned was by sheer dint of passion and worth ethic. It all reflects in the tributes for him. Go well

Bedi Sir’s benefit match at Delhi’s JNS Stadium 👍I was there with a huge group of school friends. If I’m not wrong, it was a two-day event including one day for a double-wicket tourney.

Bowled fast but also once clobbered 14 sixes in a first-class game ! Would have been a definite pick for the

In a conversation with me once, he turned poignant on the topic of playing for India, paused and then said softly: “Bishan ki baat hi kuchh aur thi.” Such a humble human being. No bitterness. RIP 🙏

Sad to hear this. Knew him since my first day as a soorts journalist. Met him for the first time - where else but at Ambedkar Stadium! Our go-to man for anything football. RIP 🙏

Raja’s passion is amazing and he is always there for anyone seeking help. Enjoyed being on assignments with him as well as on the cricket field. I’m sure the comments from KP Sir will make him as happy as this video, because Raja has always idolized him. 👍
@vijaylokapally
He was a left-arm fast bowler who could swing the ball a lot, I came to know when facing him during a match at Karnail Singh Stadium some 18-20 years ago.
This from around the time when I was chasing cricketers like a crazy fan, taking autographs of Indian Schoolboys team with passion. Lovely days

This video sums up the man and journalist very well. Privileged to have been his colleague and proud he trusted my fielding, even if it meant running across the field in the cruel sun on change of ends , from deep mid wicket to deep mid wicket. 🙂
Do not generally plug my pieces. Occasionally, though, there is stuff I do feel good about. This is one of them:
There is an inherent machismo and assertiveness that can scare the uninitiated in Meerut.
