here's a useful trick. tutorials (and achievements) tend to really muck up your code and get in everywhere.
here's how i set up the tutorial in holedown.
there's a handful of functions that look at the state of the game, i can combine these to look for more complex states.
Here's how the screenshake works in , behind the playfield there's a point (yellow) the camera aims at (through the blue x). When I trigger a shake I offset that yellow point a bit, the every frame I move it back slightly with a bit of inertia.
Works great!

Sometimes I wonder what my criteria are for deciding if something's a Controller, Manager, Handler, or Helper.
Then I immediately look away from the void.
It's too deep.
We cannot fathom.
Some things just are.
In my new game there are two walls, they are always present. At some point, say, six or seven months ago I named these east and west. Haven't touched them since.
Today I noticed they were the wrong way around.

I would like to tell everyone that I've been doing some good programming lately on a secret thing. With some luck, this might become less secret at time goes on.
Either way, I'm having fun which is the primary objective.
