OK, so @birmingham_live is the biggest regional publisher in the UK. It is all because of a rather special group of people. Here is a massive big thread of the ones who are on Twitter (there's some others, who I still love, but aren't)...

The same #wba decision makers who hired Ismael sold Pereira for £16m with three years left on his contract and turned Sam Johnstone from a £15m asset into a free. We are actually worse off the pitch than on it.

Entirely had enough of the people driving on West Mids roads putting everyone else at risk in their tonnes of metal. We report on it every day - the latest person killed for having the temerity to cross the road. I think it is time we start calling it out much, much, better.

Props to the excellent board at #WBA who sacked Darren Moore 80 days ago, have fuck all idea who they want to replace him with, and have now set a target for themselves of more than 100 days. Truly the worst - and some of the best paid - administrators in the English game.

Journalists work harder today than at any other stage in the 15 years I've been in the industry. Trainees particularly blow me away every day. They cut their teeth and assume responsibility much faster than I did. They also face criticism and abuse I never had to.

Children in poverty in Birmingham in 2015: 85,262. Children living in poverty in Birmingham now: 108,235. That’s more than the combined capacity of the #avfc , #bcfc and #wba football grounds combined. Only you get to leave football grounds when the game ends. They’re trapped.

There's something Megsonian about this business - set against a backdrop of no money, #wba seem to be relying on personality - shipping out the bad ones and recruiting good ones. I think Carlos getting this right - we can't compete financially, so do something else.
