Especially since he spent 5 days setting that sleeping routine to be up at stupid o’clock before his fight.
The performance jigsaw is complex but sleep is the foundation to every piece.
An article about the elephant in the combat sports room that needs to be spoken about. If not, it will only be a matter of time until we see someone lose a loved one to the practice of cutting weight.

The UFC check all fighter’s weights before they are sent out to the scales on the stage.
If they miss, they are granted 2 more hours to get down to weight. If they miss a second time they go on stage and miss weight.
Khabib was on weight out the back and on stage. End of story.

Big step in the right direction imo. Similar to how bowling an underarm ball in cricket is completely legal but goes against the ‘spirit’ of the game we need to create this culture in combat sports where promotion of this type of weight cut goes against the spirit of the sport.
It’s an individual sport that requires the highest degree of coordination between a team of professionals.

Excellent point! In my anecdotal experience with elite level athletes I would think no. Neither of my world champions who are also both in the top 10 P4P in their sport take supplements. Can they help? Sure. Are they necessary. Not if the glass is already full.
