So much exciting progress on LMs, but we need to go beyond imitation learning to build agents that can communicate strategically & intentionally w/ humans. Today, we’re sharing that we built an AI agent that cooperates, negotiates, and plays the game Diplomacy at a human-level.

Enjoying the #HCOMP2020 Data Excellence Workshop @em_dinan (Facebook AI), talked about adversarial data collection to train chatbots. In this approach, humans attempt to break the model built, and then those broken examples are used to fix the models. 🖥️🤖

@srchvrs @ShoYaida @suchenzang … increase the learning rates for embedding layers by a factor of embedding dim w.r.t. others (and initialize word embedding param w/ std=1 but divide the logit output by 1/sqrt(embedding dim).)

@aaron_j_chavez Thanks @aaron_j_chavez ! I think it depends on your use case, e.g. for the purposes of offensive lang. detection, data will become stale as language evolves, but a model trained on older data will still be able to detect a large portion of offensive language
