@europythons
Happy to next and connect with Python community folks 🤗
My session at

and
#Community
participation.
I highlighted what the

Congratulations to everyone whose initial application to
@outreachy
was successful 🎉
Remember you have one more stage before the internship itself. Now, this is not the time to relax, but to put in the work. Do research, learn, & leverage the power of community.
Good luck 🤗

Yesterday, I spoke at the
@djcafrica
2033 on ‘internships’ & ‘mentorship’ as catalysts for career growth.
With several past
@outreachy
internships and other folks in tech experiences shared, I highlighted to start, effectively use, and grow even more by giving to the ecosystem.
I’ve been in
#Community
management is to over 4 years.
I started this path as a volunteer and gathered all my experiences working as a volunteer.
PS: I have experience working in different career paths and it all worked together to help me build my career.
I checked my 2023 prayer list. God already answered the first thing on the list, the way I wrote it 🙌🏾
Is there anything that God can’t do?
He’s always with us, and he has limitless capacity. Do make your request known to him and trust him to do it.
Are you just building your career?
I will tell you to
#volunteer
! It allows you to learn, gain
#workexperience
, build, and grow your way up.
It is also important to know how to get value from volunteering and when to pause, stop, or look for paid opportunities.
@SheCodeAfrica
celebrated her 5th-anniversary in September and with the support of our sponsors, among other things, we gave out 12 laptops to 12 ladies to kick start/better support their careers.

Yes, we are different, but together for a common goal. Our differences shouldn't separate us but bring us together
Another Friday with the
@outreachy
interns ☺️
Office hours with these folks are always a splendid time. Fostering relationships with the interns and brainstorming ways to strengthen support for applicants and interns are some of the highlights of the sessions.
Learning tech in Nigeria is harder because, as you're learning, you're also battling with:
Slow & expensive internet.
No or terrible electricity.
Mid-night electricity only.
Terrible laptop.
High cost of laptop with no payment plan options.
Praise yourself small. You're trying.
Where are my Abuja

I will be on the
@WTMAbujaNG
power panel tomorrow. I’ll be sharing my tech story, & tips on how to grow a successful tech career.

This is a

Your smile, positivity, and hard work are a blessing, just like your name.
Trust me; you are born for greatness.

#Outreachy
What a special way to celebrate the 25th round of our internship program!
Today, we celebrate and recognize the hard work of all our mentors and mentoring organization coordinators.
Thank you for working with us to support diversity in tech.
Sometimes, you get a NO so that you can appreciate the YES. You had to wait, so you don't settle. At the best time, you‘ll get what you deserve.
It might not work now, but see it as a process for your fortune. So prepare to accommodate the answers to your waiting/prayers.
For someone who stopped dreaming before now, I'm allowing myself to dream again because I deserve to!
I'm not even kidding… I'm open to getting as much help as possible this year.
My goal is to be intentionally kind to myself while crushing my dreams.
Hey,
You don't learn all in one day. It can be overwhelming. Take it one day at a time.
Break it down into smaller pieces, stay motivated by your goals, feed your mind positively, and remember to be kind to yourself.
As the only black folk right here, I'm feeling anxious, but the people skills in me will not allow that.
I felt welcome by
@cheukting_ho
already.
#LaisCarvalho
's smile is so relieving, &
#ChenXu
’s is like a sister from home.
I am looking forward to connecting with more persons.
This year 2022, I'm grateful for all my struggles and wins 🙏
I will be gifting my
@chimoney_io
December credit,
#GiveChimoney
, to persons who see the need to reward themselves for their struggles and wins this year.
Tell me what you are grateful for & I will pick at random.
It's been a good ride! We got so much incredible feedback from the interns.
Join me as I host
@outreachy
interns in a chat. They‘ll be sharing their experiences & insights on how applicants can best use the contribution period.

As a community or DevRel manager, you must wear, practice, and speak EMPATHY.
To better serve and support someone, you need to understand them. You have to share their feelings.
This will make them feel safe, open up, and trust you.
