1/ I swung by the @NASA_Orion mission control room yesterday . . . I quipped “Are we there yet?” The flight director retorted back in his best Dad voice, “I’ll have you know we have a procedure to turn this spaceship around and GO back to earth right now!”

Cool mechanical things . . . Here 17 mechanical latches are driven by a single crank to seal the hatch. Video viewer perspective is from inside the space station looking towards the Starliner as the hatch is closed by crew prior to departure for home.

Saw the SLS at the VAB with ⁦ @Astro_Suni ⁩. It is huge! Anyone want to do the math for me in model rocket engines? A model “A” rocket engine has a total impulse of 2.5 Ns, “B” is 5 Ns. Doubles every letter going up. What is a five segment SRB in model rocket engines letters?

Thinking more about the Rogers commission to keep history from repeating itself . . . Skipping testing for the near sighted sake of “saving schedule” will in the end negatively impact cost, schedule, AND performance because you don’t understand the hardware that has been built.
