I'm looking for resources (especially from an abolitionist perspective) on why we should not address gun violence with enhancement of weapons charges, and instead get to root causes including weapons manufacturing, poverty, militaristic/patriarchal culture, etc. Recommendations?

@sheabutterfemme Hard question. The ones I have had the most success teaching (to people who haven't encountered abolition before): Policing the Planet, Prison by Any Other Name, Color of Violence, City of Inmates. So much packed into all those books. But, also, everything everyone else said!
