As a PhD student, it can sometimes feel that little is achieved, which I found frustrating at times. Last year, I decided to start a productivity diary for myself, and I'm sharing this here in case it is helpful to someone or gives them ideas to manage their own workload

After graduating the MRes with a Distinction I am officially a PhD candidate at Warwick. It's been *many years* working towards this, a lot of effort, trying, failing, and some trying again... But I made it! Cheers to me! 🥳🥳🥳🥳 (and thanks to all who helped me get here ❤️)
It's official! I am starting the doctoral program in
@warwickecon
in September 2019! 😄 Learning and growing within Economics has been a huge thrill so far, and I am really excited about continuing this adventure in Warwick.
First day at
@HarrisPolicy
as part of my visiting exchange as a
@USUKFulbright
scholar! I am very happy to be here and looking forward to making the most of the experience :)
Honored to be the runner-up for the best paper prize. The recognition for my research on youth centres and crime is humbling. Congrats to the winners and all the outstanding contributions showcased at the conference! Grateful for the support of my mentors in this journey 🙂
Thank you to all who attended the
#PhDConf2023
and to the speakers and organisers for making this a successful event.
Congrats to Victor Saldarriaga,
@cvillallera
& Lovisa Reiche for winning best paper and runner-up, and best poster.

The NBER Innovation Bootcamp is being hugely inspiring. I am very thankful for this initiative and for the opportunity to be a part of it. Hoping there will be many more editions to come and that many more researchers will benefit from it in the future.
How much do people value being paid earlier? What are the long term effects of austerity in youth services? Can we reduce trans-phobia through positive interventions? 🔆Answers in the New VoxTalks Economics 🔆
Really thankful to
@Econ_Mike
and the organizing team for the opportunity to be in TWEC XIV. Incredibly inspiring research and an amazing opportunity to meet colleagues I admire deeply. Plus a really fun time in beautiful Ann Arbor. Loved every minute!
Thank you to the presenters, discussants, keynotes, participants, and staff who helped make the Transatlantic Workshop on the Economics of Crime this year such an amazing success!! Brilliant research, great people. Can’t wait for next year!

I was supposed to work on my thesis tonight, but after a long chat with my grandma I think the story of this photo and how it ended up here may be of greater interest. The women in the picture are my great-grandma Felicidad with my grandma Conchita (left) and her sister Dulce 1/N
Honoured to receive one of the GTA Tutor Awards at Warwick, together with colleagues
@brunoss42

Thank you Carles for the support! And big congratulations to the
@RoyalEconSoc
PhD Conference organising committee for a really inspiring day. Awesome conference and really really cool work! Can't wait to see what this generation of economists does next.

Mum: So what do you think about the Coronabonds, is it a good idea? What are the long-term implications?
Me: I'm not sure... Monetary macro is not really my field...
Mum: ... What exactly are you doing in your PhD in Economics?
The toughest examiner is my mum😅
Hi Prof
@jmwooldridge
! I have a question on triple DiD in non-linear settings and your advice would mean a lot. I have some treated/untreated spatial units. Within each unit there are 3 groups (different characteristics). Suppose group 3 is (in theory) unaffected by treatment.
This morning I had the pleasure to discuss knife crime in London with Lucy Hockings at

I am very excited to be discussing our work on gangs, murders, and knife crime in London at the

Hi

Every day, I log what I did and assess my productivity – a subjective measure. For me, the 'worst' days fall under 'little', when focusing is a challenge. The best days are 'very', reserved for when I complete many tasks or finish something that's been on the to-do list for ages.
I'm curious to hear how others manage their work and self-demands. Finding the right balance can be tough, and I believe we can all learn from each other's strategies and experiences.
Some interesting results regarding the Spanish upcoming elections - 36% remain undecided as regards who to vote. A (very) high proportion of respondents... please think, read, think again, read again, then read some more... and vote.
Today it’s Saint George’s Day, National Book Day in Spain. In Catalonia a particularly special event as cities fill with bookstands and roses, memories of coloured days in BCN come to my mind. Arguably the dreamiest day of the year... feliz San Jorge, feliç Sant Jordi 🌹📚

Islamophobic hate crime in Manchester spiked after international terror attacks. Even though they live far from attacks, UK Muslim populations face media-magnified likelihood of hate crime victimisation.
