They made movies out of Lego & 21 Jump St & a “-Verse” of Spider-Mans? & now a Cocaine Bear? Hollywood is officially out of ideas.

We were lucky enough to work with James Caan on Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. He brought a pathos and authenticity to the role of Tim Lockwood that held the film together. RIP to a legend
Bugs Bunny is totally chill until provoked, & then he comes back at you with like 1000x more than the original offense. He’s the John Wick of the cartoon world
This scene was originally written to take place all in Dickson’s office but Channing said “If this happened, I would run all over the building telling everyone” so we set up a bunch of cameras and let him do his thing
The development of new groundbreaking art techniques being done for the next Spider-Verse movie are already blowing me away. It’s going to make the first movie look quaint
I don’t fully understand why the Miles/Miguel chase GIF from the Across the Spider-Verse trailer has tickled the internet’s fancy so much, but I am enjoying all the variations.
To clarify, amidst the universe-hopping there are 240 unique characters that had to be designed and modeled but they’re mostly minor or background characters. The scale is grand, but the story is personal & centers on Miles and his family, along w/ Gwen and a handful of others
‘ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE’ has the largest crew of an animated movie ever.
The film includes 240 characters and takes place in 6 universes.

Dreamworks co-founder Jeff Katzenberg says AI will cut costs of animation movies by 90% within the next 3 years
“In the good old days, you might need 500 artists and years to make a world-class animated movie. I don’t think it will take 10% of that 3 years from now”
When I say this movie is unlike anything you've ever experienced, I mean it is visually beyond what we could do in the first one, with jaw-dropping stylistic innovations that need to be seen on the biggest screen possible.
You’ve heard about it, but you’ve been busy. But this weekend, go see the Golden Globe-winning

while you still can. Trust me, you don’t want to miss seeing it on a big screen.
The all-new trailer for SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE is out now!
The incredible crew is working hard finishing the film, and I can tell you: it’s a fun, gorgeous, emotional ride — like nothing you’ve never experienced before.
This is one of the most heartwarming true stories you will read today. It has been a joy to get to know and work with the talented

and his family. Our check-ins were the favorite part of my day. He is going to go far!
It’s me coughing. Mixed in the rear right speaker. It was a joke we put in 22 Jump St - nobody noticed in theaters but studio brass wouldn’t let it be in the Blu-Ray version, worried it’d freak out people at home there was an intruder. We’ve snuck it in every movie ever since.
10 years ago today, THE LEGO MOVIE released in cinemas. It was a joyful experience making the film - a celebration of creativity.
To celebrate, I’ll post some memories and behind-the-scenes tidbits on this thread throughout the day.

web expands. 🕸 Take a first look at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One). Exclusively in movie theaters October 2022.
RRR is over-the-top ridiculous insanity and it is AMAZING. It’s like Michael Bay and Baz Luhrmann and Stephen Chow teamed up to make a movie. It was 3 hours long but it could have been 4 hours and I would’ve still enjoyed it.
Loving the outpouring of love and joy and passion and appreciation of
#SpiderVerse
- it warms my heart!
But there’s no need to put down other films while celebrating this one. Let’s ride this positive feeling!
9 years ago today, THE LEGO MOVIE was released in cinemas. We didn’t know if folks would cynically dismiss it as a toy commercial or if they’d appreciate the love & creativity the crew of 100s of artists put into it. Thankfully, it connected with many around the world. Thank you.

I saw COYOTE VS ACME and it’s delightful. Funny, charming, good physical comedy timing, with a surprising amount of heart. I hope several studios go after it so the world can see all the good work people did.

In 2015 we produced a show about the aftermath of a global virus pandemic
This year we produced a movie about a family surviving a robot apocalypse
Just a warning.
The 1st person I knew to get Covid (March 2020) was 33 & she still has lingering breathing issues from it. The youngest person I know to get Covid is 24. 8 months in, still has no sense of smell/taste.
20- & 30-somethings: it doesn’t have to kill you to really suck. Get vaxxed.
Between Spider-Man & Tick, Tick… Boom & The Eyes of Tammy Faye it seems like Andrew Garfield decided to spend his pandemic showing everyone he’s one of his generations greatest & most delightful actors instead of staying in his home and making sourdough like everyone else
I’m a big NBA fan, and I love that people are excited about Spider-Verse, but this janky-ass AI looks nothing like the hand-crafted innovative artistry of the films

More importantly, the story is deeply emotional, action-packed, and funny.

There’s a certain movie coming out w/ a bunch of famous characters from different movies & TV shows & games that all interact in the same shared universe, and let me tell you, it is AWESOME.
Yep, THE LEGO MOVIE 2 is coming this February.

This is an ignorant attitude. No studio head would say they wouldn’t make an original drama, or action movie ,or biopic, or comedy, or wouldn’t have made Avatar. To suggest animation alone needs to be IP is absurd.
Paramount CEO Brian Robbins says they are moving away from releasing original animated movies in theaters & instead will focus on IPs.
“We’re not going to release an expensive original animated movie and just pray people will come.”

We pitched the Sony brass an ambitious tag involving Spider-Ham, Tobey, Andrew, and Tom. They felt it was “too soon”

I received this shocking letter in the mail from the real Spider-Man yesterday. It was written on an antique typewriter like the ones

has.
I heard it was delayed because Clifford compared vaccines to the Holocaust at a press junket and now they’re digitally replacing the dog with a giant CG Tig Notaro
