@Challenger_ST Part of the issue with stuff like this IMO is that your best athletes *usually* perform the best, because your best athletes are *usually* dawgs. This confuses coaches: “if my best athletes are doing it well, it must mean getting better at it makes you a better athlete!”

We like to end our players’ practices with some form of skill-based competition for several reasons: 1. Competition improves focus and intent, especially towards the end of the day when athletes can tend to be fatigued.

2. Competition in itself is a skill which can be trained (I think this is a @JasonOchart -ism) 3. It’s fun Yesterday’s hitting competition was relatively simple, and can be used without much tech. We split into two teams and awarded 1pt for a “barrel” and 2pts for a home run.

@Tstokey This was an unlock for me at Driveline this winter. Pulling the ball with true spin in the air is a skill. I used to lament being “unlucky” — felt like I barreled a lot of balls that got caught. Similar EVs/LAs have had better outcomes for me this year due to better ball flight
