Received some heavy news yesterday. If you had the privilege to know Walker, you truly know how much of a blessing he was. My thoughts and prayers are with the Montgomery family, Starkville Academy, and anyone else that had the privilege to know him.

Big shoutout to the TCU coaching staff tonight! Great clinic for strength and conditioning along with speed training! Not only for football but for a well rounded athlete! Thanks
@TCUFootball
@craigroh
A clinic for smaller schools. Combatting the majority of your players going both ways and how to condition and train that kind of team year in and year out
Happy Birthday! The best thing to ever happen to me! You are a blessing to me everyday! And make me a better person and coach! I love you! You are amazing!❤️
Proud of these guys from SA yesterday for becoming state champions in the 4x400 m relay. Proud I got to coach 3 of them in football and meet 1 of them yesterday. Congrats guys!
Loyalty to a football team and that teams players simply is hard to find now. Seen so much hate on here for players or a player in particular that’s struggling. Rally to support not tear down! Anyone remember pick a guy up when he’s down?
To all the people who make it a point to kneel for the national anthem. This is what these men who fight for that flag that you disrespect go through for us everyday.
This Army soldier’s flight was delayed. He had to watch the birth of his daughter on FaceTime. I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us everyday and the sacrifices they make.
“Don’t just do to do. Do to do it!” This is an interesting quote from Brad Butler. I’m gonna break it down. If you’re doing something to just say it’s done. You’re wrong! Do things with purpose because that’s how it should be done. Do to do it!
Cut down on the number of games kids play in just about every sport. When the season is over the kid should be wanting to play more games not happy that the season is over. Keeps a good relationship with the sport and prevents burn out at an early age.
@KBolton_18
had an interesting statistic from last night.. 5-7% or more speed is lost within a football season! Are your teams training speed throughout the season?
Build a relationship with that athlete before football becomes part of the conversation! Then talk to them about trying spring football. If they don’t like it. THAT IS OKAY!! It then does not seem like a commitment because they don’t have to play in the fall
@CoachMaceina
Haven’t called plays yet. Only JV defense for about 7-8 games this year. My advice means nothing. Trust your gut. That’s what my dad always told me. He was a DC for 17 years
Had a student at Open House yesterday come in by herself and meet me and sign in and asked me a question while her parents waited outside for her. Teaching some independence! Love to see it
Happy Birthday to my beautiful girlfriend
@maghanspencer
She speaks wisdom into me and gives me an unbiased opinion whenever I need it! She truly makes me a better man and Coach. I love you sweetheart
Season didn’t end how we would’ve liked, but I couldn’t be more proud of the team and this group of seniors. I love each and every one of you. Great season!
We were meeting for spring and trying to get everyone put in a position for day 1. Kid that wasn’t very good decided to not play. HC said we need to do everything we can to get him back out
He says “look I know he’s a pain but this kid needs us more than we need him”
Don’t try to do too much! Focus on the fundamentals and not so much all the complexities of your position. I tried to do so much my first year with junior high athletes. Looking back could have simplified and been A LOT more time efficient!
As a Defensive Coach what game stats do you prioritize in preparing a scheme and / or game plan?
Here is my list
1 - missed tackles
2- Rushing Yards
3- Yards after Catch
It is my belief that these will ultimately determine outcome.
