Yesterday, I dropped a tenner which a gust of wind carried underneath a huge security fence outside a bank (which had closed). A young lad runs over, scales the 10 ft fence and hands me my £10. I was so overwhelmed I told him he could keep it.

My dear friend Fiona Steggles was training to be a blue badge guide in Cumbria before she died last month. Today, at the celebration of her life at @YHAAmbleside we were told she’ll be posthumously awarded an honorary Blue Badge. How lovely is that 💙

The famous coat worn by Labour leader Michael Foot at the Cenotaph for the 1981 Remembrance Sunday service. The press had a go at him, calling it a ‘donkey jacket’ - it was actually bought from Harrods. It’s in the People’s History Museum, Manchester.

Miran lost his dad in a landmine explosion last year. He saw my dad’s @LFC cap, said he loves Van Dijk and Salah. With my dad dying in July, it just felt right to give Miran the cap. Dad would have loved it #iraq #LFC @MAGsaveslives @BBCNWT

We have lost another very fine BBC colleague. Jonathan Ali, or Jali as we called him, was a Bury lad. Passionate about his work and an expert on military history. When I was presenting @BBCNWT breakfast he would greet me every day with “Morning Clowe!” ❤️
