This bill wouldn’t send anywhere near 60 billion dollars to Ukraine. It would: 1. Fund increased submarine production in the U.S to counter China. 2. Give the U.S military replacement money to modernize its equipment by sending old stuff to Ukraine and getting new stuff instead

The war in Ukraine is absolutely winnable for Ukraine. It’s western partners just need to spend half a percent of GDP on aid. Something that Baltic states exceed by a factor of 2-3x without issue. Half a percent of U.S and EU GDP would be 237 billion dollars a year.

Because it is trying to spin up its own defense industry and helping basic government services like water and power keep running stops more people from leaving. This helps Ukraines economy and w/Lowering the need for more aid and stoping ppl becoming refugees in Europe and the US

Now part of me is asking why this didn’t get done all along. Europe has fallen short on commitments and it turns out it was this easy to get 800k-1 million more shells within weeks to months. Hopefully they buy every shell they can find from here on out.

10.Ukraines economy is already very closely tied to the EU. And with it on the path to becoming an EU member state with over 40 million citizens and a larger land area than any EU state. It is a very important to western markets and a market ripe with potential for the US as well

It’s amazing here we are in year 3 of the Russian invasion and with woefully insufficient aid Ukraine has been able to retake 50% of its land and even without new U.S aid for 5 months it’s largely been able to hold the front line although at increasing difficulty and costs.

Pre war BAE was making 16,000 large caliber shells per month. And like I reported in July BAE publicly released their plan to 8x large caliber artillery shell production. Which would put them at around 128,000 a month or 1.5 million per year.

I still adamantly believe this invasion could have been prevented by sending a small number of U.S forces into Ukraine and publicizing their willingness to defend the country and patrolling Ukraines airspace with U.S jets non stop. Vague warnings where not enough to deter this.

If we where to have an serious Ukraine aid bill I’d do it this way. 1. 20 billion in PDDA for Ukraine. 2. 40 billion in USAI. 3. 15 billion in funding for Ukraines defense industry to make them more self sufficient. 4. 5 billion in budget aid to go towards further mobilization

This missile travels at hypersonic speeds > Mach 5 for part of its flight. However it is not a modern hypersonic in the same sense as highly maneuverable hypersonics that can evade modern air defense systems ex glide maneuvering glide vehicles or ramjet/scram jet cruise missiles.

Sending Ukraine all this cumulative aid at one time in early 2022 would have resulted in Ukraine kicking Russia out of the country. We had an opportunity to do that and we failed to. This will stabilize the front, but much more is needed for Ukraine to outright win.

This is possible because the Washington plant is very new and extremely modern. Having just opened in 2012-2013 when most U.S plants have parts that date back to WW2. BAE Washington had 14 ultra modern machines with separate control rooms and extremely automated processes.

The oil and gas sector accounted up to roughly 34% of Russia's federal budget revenues, and up to 54% of its exports in 2021. So taking out 25-50% of its oil and gas capacity could potentially cut the country’s exports by up to 25% and government revenue’s by up to 17%.

This makes it a relatively standard target for the patriot system. Which regularly downs short and medium range ballistic missiles in the Middle East that have a speed greater than Mach-5 for part of their flight profile. A common example that the patriot downs is a burkan-2H.
