meet Raven - a social worker playing the game like never before. her interpreter + bestie Paris is along for the ride, but she's the one calling allll the shots
The way y’all be treating disabled people is fucked up. Like what’s the point? I go to order food with my whole order written in my notes. The woman say something back to me, and I inform her that I am Deaf. She got an attitude, rolled her eyes, and walked away from me.
Yall do know that since I am the first Deaf contestant on
#TheCircleNetflix
that there is going to be a huge number of Deaf people watching right? Why would I play the game with just a keyboard? I’m using ASL for my community. And Paris is helping YOU understand. Simple
The fact that everyone in the replies think this is funny. This isn’t funny. Deaf people needing access to an interpreter is not a joke. The fucking audacity
Season 5 of Netflix’s
#TheCircle
set to feature the show’s first deaf contestant in performer and disability advocate, Raven Sutton.
She will be joined by her interpreter, Paris.
Since some people are confuse 😅 the hand motion was not the sign for “BJ” it’s to show the lower body throwing it in a circle, which you can see Meg do on the screen. Let’s leave the ASL to me and the Deaf community okay? 😂
I had muted this because sometimes when I post to vent, I like to forget about it. Thank you for the love and support. The workers didn’t have name tags but it was at a CAVA in College Park Maryland
Deaf people can become Interpreters. It is called Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDI) for the people that didn’t know. In this video I explain what the process of interpreting at a concert look like.
Your girl got invited to the White House today for Black History month to have a roundtable discussion with other Black Disabled Advocates about the needs of our community.
Parents should unpack their ableism before having kids I think. Cause projecting those thoughts on their disabled child is only going to make it worse for that child.
Unfortunately 95% of Deaf babies are born from hearing parents and they refuse to learn ASL for their child. Instead they will make them wear hearing devices and force them to speak

I requested to have it in my apartment but my leasing office said I had to prove that I’m Deaf by paying for audiologist. Which my insurance doesn’t cover.

Strobe Fire Alarms are a life saver for deaf people. They cost more so most people and business do not use them, but they are so worth the extra money if you have a hearing loss.
The fact that if I sign ASL with my Deaf friends, and a hearing person is present. They demand me to tell them what we are talking about. But if I ask a hearing person to repeat something then it’s “NEVERMIND” “it wasn’t important” TRASH!!
When a Deaf person request for an interpreter please make sure the agency you are contacting or the interpreter you are contacting us legit. Ask them for their credentials. Tell them to show you videos of their previous work. Ask the Deaf person if they have a preferred interp.
Woke up at 6am to smoke due to fire in several apartments above mine. Seemed to be caused by electric. Didn’t hear the fire alarm at all. Thank God I was not alone. I would have definitely slept through it. Im currently safe and trying to stay warm.
It pisses me off that she is Black too because almost every fraud interpreter that went viral was black. Also because now Qualified Black Interpreters will not be trusted. And there’s already not many of them.
“Hearies” is a term that we use in the Deaf community to refer to people that can hear. It is in no way a slur or offensive term. Some Deaf people even call themselves “Deafies”.
TW! Hate Crime/Murder Against Deaf Haitians

The Deaf community in Haiti need our help! In Haiti Deaf people are being murdered because it is believed by Haitians that disabled people are cursed. Recently, 4 Deaf women were murdered.
Please CAPTION YOUR VIDEOS! Especially when you’re giving tips and information regarding natural emergencies. A lot of people do not have power and are only getting news from social media!
I handpicked all of my interpreters!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 to make history you know we had to SHOW UP and SHOW OUT!! I also had an AfoLatina Interpreter as well name Nora! She was shown after Paris and I walked in in the finale 🤎🤎

Crazy how some people think I made it Top three on the circle because I’m deaf. Like my casts felt sorry for me or something 😂. When you are disabled black and a woman, people become shocked to see you win

It’s just our slang. Now I get this is new for y’all, but don’t come at me disrespectful with the fake outrage just because you didn’t know that us Deaf people have other terms to refer to y’all as. Google is free!
Hearing babies get to learn ASL. Deaf babies get hearing devices, and then have a video going viral of them hearing for the first time as inspiration porn
I am really confused at the thought process here. Like if a Deaf person requested an interpreter, WHAT MAKE YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH SIGNING GIBBERISH?!
@missundaaztood
Yep! People are saying I should’ve just used my voice since I can talk, or that the producers should’ve just gave me a keyboard. Some people are saying they prefer Paris over me like he literally isn’t voicing exactly what I’m signing lmaooooo 😂😂
Y’all get offended if I address y’all as “hearing people” and/or “hearies” and I don’t get it. YALL CAN LITERALLY HEAR! Humor me, what would y’all like to be addressed as? 👀😒
Y’all I can finally say that I am a Music interpreter! Still gotta get my name out there, but so far I became an independent contractor with two interpreting agencies! 🙌🏾
