Sundance just announced FLORA AND SON from the director of SING STREET, please excuse me while rearrange my whole damn schedule to make that my new number one priority at the festival.
I couldn't have asked for better payoff for DUNE PART ONE than the absolute epicness we're treated to in DUNE PART TWO. The scale of this movie larger than life, with incredible cinematography and sound design that rocked my world. IMAX strongly recommended.
#DunePartTwo
Upon second watch, y'all, IDGAF - DUNE PART TWO is nothing short of exceptional sci fi filmmaking. Seriously, an instant sci fi classic. This is exactly what audiences should be clamoring to see in theaters. GO SEE IT IN IMAX ASAP!
I couldn't be happier to have ended TIFF on such a high note. HIT MAN is a certified banger with a super smart script & sizzling chemistry between its leading pair. Glen Powell's performance deserves all the accolades. Films like this are exactly what I come to TIFF for.
#TIFF23
Y'all. FREAKY TALES deserves every ounce of praise it gets and more. I love a well thought out set of interconnected stories and it delivers that with a phenomenal cast, awesome cameos, and an abundance of cheer-worthy moments. It's mind blowingly good.

Anna Kendrick nails her directorial debut. WOMAN OF THE HOUR offers a compelling female perspective to a serial killer story. It toggles between thriller and comedic tones in a way that works for me and is ultimately incredibly entertaining to watch.
#TIFF23
So cool I get to end TIFF this year with a film on the IMAX screen. And I hear this one is a real banger. Let's finish the fest strong.
Now seated for my final film at TIFF, HIT MAN.
#TIFF23
INFINITY POOL is unhinged. Brandon Cronenberg delivers another striking piece of bizarre cinema with great acid-trip visuals and a surprising amount of comedy. With fantastic performances from Mia Goth and Alexander Sarsgaard, this film is a pool I thoroughly enjoyed diving into.
DADDIO makes the most of its premise and its incredible co-stars, Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn. The dialog is sure to provoke conversation, but the film features a touching and satisfying conclusion.
#TIFF23
That's a wrap on my TIFF trip. I love this festival. I love the films I saw. And I love the chance to meet and hang out with awesome people, including my amazing ForReel team!
Let's do this again next year.

LOVE LIES BLEEDING is a wild and unpredictable ride. I laughed a lot more than I thought I would! Great performances from the cast, especially Katy O'Brian with an impressive physical performance. Solid sophomore film from Rose Glass.

THE ZONE OF INTEREST is a lot to process, so this reaction is subject to change. But I do think this will age well in my mind becasue I'm realizing that everything I don't like about the film makes it great, and everything that's great about it makes it exceptional.
#TIFF23
My tentative Sundance schedule currently has 34 films scheduled out with more to be added. Now iso a coffee/energy drink company to sponsor this endeavor, I'ma need all the caffeine I can get.
MAGAZINE DREAMS is going to live in my head for a long time. It's tense, unnerving, and often harrowing, but there's payoff in the end. Jonathan Majors gives an **outstanding** performance. Elijah Bynum nails it on his sophomore feature.
I can't watch HIT MAN without smiling ear to ear every time. This movie is truly is cinematic gold. So funny. So sexy. So well written. So exceptional. Glen Powell and Adria Arjona are perfect together, and THAT SCENE never gets old. Man, it's really a hit.

This year, I want to find magic. In the movies I watch. In the film festivals I go to. In the friendships I have. In the marriage I charish. In the new things I challenge myself to try.
It's cheesy, I know. But I don't want this year to just be great. I want it to be magic.
PAIN HUSTLERS was so entertaining! David Yates might follow a familiar formula for telling this story, but he does it in a way that is both comedic and emotional. The whole cast is fantastic, but Emily Blunt gets the MVP award. Definitely recommend!

I'm excited to share that I've been accepted into the Seattle Film Critics Society! This means so much to me as I continue to grow as a writer and as the manager of
@ThisIsForReel
. I'm looking forward to the new connections and opportunities that await!
Thank you

There's no denying how fun MI7 is. Thrilling, action packed, and full of cheer-worthy moments, this is a fantastic summer blockbuster film. IMAX strongly recommended!
I'm honored to share that I was 1 of 45 journalists chosen to participate in
@TIFF_NET
's Media Inclusion Initiative, which aims to create a more balanced and representative press corps. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and I look forward to making the most of this experience.
I enjoyed THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MAGICAL NEGROES so much more then I expected. Funny, entertaining, and charming. David Alan Grier's performance is a highlight. Definitely one to see with a big audience.

Once upon a time I had a ticket to see THE SON at TIFF. But at the last minute, I made the decision to switch to a different movie playing at the same time. Now that I've seen THE SON months later, I look back fondly on that decision and remind myself I'm capable of good choices.
WE BOUT TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCE, LET'S GOOOO
Now seated for the World Premiere Midnight screening of INFINITY POOL at Sundance with the guys
@besttreal
and
@marty_milkman
Final in-person film of SIFF. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to see this for a second time in a theater. It's so good.
Now seated for CHA CHA REAL SMOOTH at SIFF.
@SIFFnews
1. Everything Everywhere All At Once
2. Cha Cha Real Smooth (Friendly reminder this hits Apple TV+ in a couple weeks 😊)
3. You Won't Be Alone
4. Top Gun: Maverick
5. Fresh
CIVIL WAR is much less politically charged than you might assume. Alex Garland takes the suspense he's great at in sci fi and applies it seamlessly to warfare, and for that, I land favorably on it. Also, 5 minutes of Jesse Plemons was THE highlight of the film.
Reel Buzzed…
Michael Myers is literally the only person who can bring a knife to a gun fight with an average walking speed of about half a mile an hour and win almost every time.
#HalloweenMovie
It's official. My TIFF schedule will include:
On The Come Up
Causeway
The Fabelmans (World Premiere)
The Whale
The Good Nurse
The Menu
The Son
Empire of Light
Glass Onion
The Wonder

Omg PAST LIVES 😭 Such a tender and emotional story about connection to others and longing. Excellent film, it will easily be one of my favorites at Sundance - perhaps even of the year.
I randomly just realized that UNCHARTED came out this year. Even had to Google it to confirm. Y'all. That movie is so far removed from my memory it feels five or six years old.
I wasn't prepared for how much I would love A REAL PAIN. The dynamic between Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin is everything I could want out of a cousin bonding narrative. And the film is beautifully written and shot. This is what I come to Sundance for.

I don't think I'm ready for this, but I can't wait to experience it. So grateful I managed to get a ticket for this screening.
Now seated for THE ZONE OF INTEREST at TIFF.
#TIFF23
Keep your expectations in check for QUIZ LADY. It's silly, goofy comedy - perfect for throwing on TV at home on a low key night, not for taking super seriously. The plot is entirely nonsensical, but the Sandra Oh/Awkwafina dynamic can be fun to hang out with.
#TIFF23
Where my indie horror fans and friends at? The title might make you think of La Llorona, but let me tell you, La Patasola is so much more interesting to discuss.
Here's my interview w/ this awesome filmmaking couple about their movie:
