This was so moving. Spontaneously stopped off at the London Bridge station organ to play a couple of pieces for the Queen. This lovely security guard, Marcella, asked if I could play Lascia ch'io pianga. Turns out she trained as a singer! ❤️😭

At 1am on Friday I was practising @RoyalAlbertHall & someone shouted up ‘play The Toccata’. I did, & offered to show them the organ. Well, turns out they were @si_bonobo ’s band. 12 hrs later they had written me an organ part & I helped them close their show…! Best. Night. Ever.

He had been shielding for 5 1/2 months & said his mental health had hit rock bottom. He dropped his phone 1 week in while cleaning it & the screen smashed, but he had no way of contacting anyone to arrange a replacement so he just didn't speak to anyone that whole time.

Yesterday was heaven. @violincase and I spontaneously decided to take a Bach organ fugue & turn it into a duet for violin & organ - this was our first time trying it out. Such fun experimenting & responding to each other in real time ❤️ I learnt so much from this!!

If you ever had any doubts about the organ being the coolest instrument, this organ has a stop called a Tibia Liquida which opens a hidden drinks cabinet. Thanks to Ben Teague for bringing this most important discovery to my attention.
