20 trucks of aid to a population that was already 80% reliant on humanitarian assistance to survive essentially means forcing aid agencies to triage. It's nowhere near enough. #Gaza #CeasefireNOW

20 trucks is better than no aid at all, but a population of 2,3 million with no supplies at all for many days, under bombardment, without electricity+ water supply need ceasefire, many border crossings, thousands of trucks, evacuations, and a system that keeps borders open.

Malians can and do flee violence and drought, but international neglect is inescapable. While a record number of over a million people in Mali are facing hunger this year, donor states only provided a quarter of the funding needed for to keep hunger away.

Years of advocacy efforts have led to this achievement. Now we need to see this decision actually be implemented on the ground.

"Shall we dig up the ground and hide in it?" Migrants/refugees in Tripoli are scared of leaving their houses, after the crackdown and arrest of more than 5000. The Libyan authorities should release all of those detained. *Voice was changed to protect the individual's identity

3/ But the longer they go hungry, the harder it is to fully recover. Children who are pushed to starvation may face stunting. They may experience irreversible impacts to their physical and cognitive abilities.

Last week @AJENews asked me to speak about education in #Gaza . There is no education in Gaza. Parents are more concerned about keeping their kids alive. As the UNSC convenes today, they must condemn & stop Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon on Gaza. #CeasefireNOW

This building was still standing after the first earthquake. After the second set of earthquakes which hit #Hatay a week ago, this building in #Antakya completely crumbled. Countless buildings across the city are on the verge of collapse. 1/2

Missing from the headlines of yet another "escalation" is that #Gaza has been under a brutal 15-year Israeli military blockade According to @save_children half of all children in Gaza have contemplated suicide & more than half are self-harming.

No aid entered #Gaza today, and it was a sign of what’s to come. An Israeli takeover of the #Rafah crossing will be the nail on the coffin of an already collapsing aid response in #Gaza , accelerating starvation at a pace we haven’t even seen yet. #CeasefireNOW

5/ Aid is now Gaza's main lifeline, but the response has been crippled: ❌Aid workers are killed ❌Comms blackouts make coordination hard ❌ Israeli inspectors have routinely removed items essential for the response, including generators, fridges & water purification devices
