One thing I would love to see all editors think about more thoughtfully is the rhythm of sentences. If it's not grammatically incorrect (or whatever copyedit standard one is using) and it's clear the writer is writing for musicality, maybe don't change it to your preference?

the longer we talk about THE SIMPLE MEASURE OF WEARING A MASK the more i'm reminded of my father. my grandfather died in taiwan during SARS but not of SARS. he had a stroke, and they had to quickly move him home from the hospital because of risk of SARS, and he died soon after.

in order to do so. he wore a mask around my stepmother inside the house for two weeks. no one asked him to do this. it was not required of him. he did not have to be guilted into doing it. it was just the smart and safe thing to do for him, his coworkers, family, etc.

my father forbid us to travel w him to the funeral because of risk of SARS, and so he went alone. my stepmother also stayed home for the same reason. when my father returned, he quarantined at home for two weeks, taking more time off from work (he worked at NASA so no small feat)

I wish there was a zoom cooking class for people never taught to cook, or don't have the skills to teach themselves, so they could learn 25-50 simple recipes to sustain themselves. All made w simple ingredients, adaptable re eating restrictions, w tools you have or can acquire.

Just learned you can get a second bivalent booster if you got your first in fell so if you’re AWP headed (or in general but especially) go get it and help protect each other!

When I called out Nick Flynn for being a serial sexual abuser in the writing community I was told I “exploited my abuse to further my career.” Little did she know I didn’t care how far my career travels, I just wanted to save at least one person from the experience I had.
