I can’t quite believe it.
@UJS_UK
has been a huge part of my life over the last 3 years and it’s such an honour to now have the opportunity to lead an organisation that means so much to so many. All I can say is thank you.
It’s an honour to have been mentioned alongside other old Habs boys including
@Baddiel
@RealMattLucas
@AshleyBlaker
but sadly I was not a part of Habonim Dror as the conspiracy would suggest…
All I can say is thank you.
Thank you to those who have amplified our voices and helped us achieve getting
#hateoffcampus
and removing antisemitism from campus in Bristol.
Thousands attend
#HateOffCampus
rally to offer support for Jewish students in Bristol...
...no support offered from the University the Jewish students are studying at a week later.
It’s been 7 days since thousands came together demanding that
@BristolUni
take action. Jewish students are tired of neutrality. They're being targeted and harassed on their campus and the University have done nothing. It’s time to stand up for your Jewish students
#hateoffcampus
When I started at UJS, I could not have predicted Jewish students facing the worst antisemitism crisis on campus in a generation.
These challenges aren’t going away anytime soon. Please consider supporting UJS’ vital work this weekend:
Jewish students need YOU. Hear directly from them about the support UJS provides.
Donate today at and help us Safeguard Jewish Life on Campus!
All donations will be matched.
I’m proud to be a part of
@UJS_UK
, an organisation led by the exceptional
@joelrosen_
that calls out racism and homophobia, wherever it may be found, including in Israel.
Following a meeting and vote of UJS' National Executive Committee, which represents a cross-section of Jewish students, the following statement was agreed:
This Chanukah, as we remember the rededication of the temple, I want to rededicate my support for our fantastic Jewish community. Thank you for your amazing contribution to this country.
Chag Sameach!
Will
@SkyNews
explain to their viewers that Hamas is a designated terrorists organisation who’s founding charter seeks the death of all Jews when they invite them onto their programme?
Today we met with members of the senior management team at the University of Bristol, and yet again they have failed to take action. We will not let this drop. Join us tomorrow 5pm at our virtual rally to stand with Jewish students to get
#hateoffcampus
It is immense to know that Jewish students will never again be subjected to the vile antisemitism we have witnessed.
Jewish student life would not exist as we know it without
@UJS_UK
,
@ninafreedman1
and
@JamesHarris_UK
as well as the many others who have worked with us.
The fight against antisemitism is vast, but I hope today's news goes a long way to showing positive change can be made and that we should never settle for anything less than a society free from all forms of hatred.
After receiving a hateful message as a result of David Miller’s comments on the weekend, it is clear now more than ever before that action needs to be taken to stem the hatred he is spreading on campus and further afield.
Yesterday, Prof. David Miller, a lecturer from the
@BristolUni
, criticised Jewish students and the Jewish society for daring to speak out about antisemitism. His comments will only succeed in making our campus a more hostile environment for Jewish students.
On a day where 100+ politicians publicly supported Bristol’s Jewish students and
@halfon4harlowMP
called on
@michelledonelan
to intervene, as I said at the
#hateoffcampus
rally, thank you so much for all your support. Please understand all your support makes a difference.
Today, more than 100 parliamentarians from across both Houses of Parliament, members of seven political parties, independent and crossbench peers have written to
@BristolUni
calling for action on antisemitism.
Thank you to
@CST_UK
for more outstanding work. Alongside others, I may have been accused of being a ‘pawn’ of a particular state, but there is only one account with this warning on it...
CST welcomes the termination of the Palestine Declassified YouTube channel, broadcast by Iranian Press TV, produced by Professor David Miller, and presented by former MP Chris Williamson, in the wake of CST's complaint to
@YouTube
Today we say Enough.
We have tolerated this hateful speech on our campus for far too long, and we are exhausted.
We are tired of silence, tired of inaction, tired of hate.
David Miller and his views have no place on our campus.
Action must be taken.
Thank you to
@cow_ted
for writing an incredible article showing why there is no place for David Miller’s hatred on campus. It’s time for action to be taken.
Bristol University’s Jewish Society have said they hope to work with the university to ‘make sure that no students ever feel intimidated or put in an uncomfortable atmosphere’ by one of its senior lecturers, Professor David Miller, again.
Thank you to
@lmharpin
for summarising my speech at last night’s rally. We won’t stop until the University ensures the protection of Jewish students on campus, ensuring they are free from intimidation and hatred.
#HateOffCampus
I’m very excited to have been elected as a student trustee of
@UJS_UK
. Looking forward to working with the trustees over the coming year to enable
@joelrosen_
and UJS to continue their outstanding work.
The ever important fight against antisemitism cannot and should not *ever* be politicised and used for political point scoring as
@trussliz
has done in her fantasy ‘war on woke’.
We’re not sure what the “woke civil service culture that strays into antisemitism” is.
But what we are sure is that this is a desperate and divisive attempt by Liz Truss to drag Jews into her campaign to win over the Conservative membership with nonsense buzzword pledges.
@simonmontefiore
@Dannythefink
Thank you so much
@Dannythefink
for supporting us as Jewish students in Bristol. As President of the JSoc here, it’s extremely unnerving to know a Professor is equating you with the ‘enemy’ yet hopefully we can work to stem the spread of hatred on campus.
Today, on
#HolocaustMemorialDay
, I am thinking of the Jewish historian Emanuel Ringelblum, who recognised that the Nazi’s were planning a systematic denial of the Holocaust. He led a collection of 35,000 documents and reports within the Warsaw Ghetto.
It was my greatest honour to share my personal experiences of antisemitism at the opening of the Global Forum for Combatting Antisemitism this evening.
It was the greatest honour to see
@deborahlipstadt
@StateSEAS
this morning. We as a Jewish people are incredibly lucky to have her as an ambassador and I am always in awe of her expertise when hearing her speak.
The University of Bristol has the ability to not subjugate its Jewish students to harassment. We urge them to follow their own policies with the well-being of Jewish students as its highest priority.
Bristol JSoc and
@UJS_UK
calls on the University of Bristol to immediately suspend Miller, pending the completion of its investigation. See our full statement below:
We shouldn’t have to go to this effort to rid campus of antisemitism but we will not give up until all Jewish students can study on campus safe in the knowledge they are free from hatred.
Incredible to be surrounded by role models including
@michaeldickson
and
@Christian4BuryS
who have dedicated themselves to fighting for the Jewish community.
With the brave
@BristolJsoc
Jewish Society President
@_EdwardIsaacs
who stood up to rising antisemitic abuse &
@Christian4BuryS
MP, outspoken in his support for Britain's Jewish community. He gave an excellent speech to the Global Forum for Combating Antisemitism in Jerusalem.
It has been the greatest privilege to be supported by
@adam_rose
and his incredible team. Without their expert advice, we definitely would not have received yesterday’s outcome. I can’t thank them enough for all the work they have done. Jewish students are safer because of them.
Mishcon de Reya provided pro bono legal advice to the Union of Jewish Students and the Bristol Jewish Society regarding student complaints about the conduct of Professor David Miller, who was dismissed today by the University of Bristol
Today,
@NUS_UK
released a detailed report into Antisemitism in the Union -
"...NUS has failed generations of Jewish students. It is a searing indictment of anti-Jewish racism at the heart of student politics..."

I’m proud to have supported writing this letter calling on our community to stand up against islamophobia.
If we want our community’s fight against antisemitism to be taken seriously, we must stand up against islamophobia within our community.
Anti-racism encompasses all faiths
@LordJohnMann
@BristolUni
Was an honour to be speaking alongside you this evening. Your words mean so much to Jewish students in Bristol and we are hoping they will push the University into acting to protect and support Jewish students on campus. Thank you for all you do!
When will Bristol’s Jewish students begin to see action? The situation is untenable. Thank you so much
@halfon4harlowMP
for supporting Jewish students.
The University needs to publicly state it wants
#HateOffCampus
and begin to protect its Jewish students.
WATCH: "The University management cares nothing, sees nothing and does nothing about this. They appear to regard Jewish students as a nuisance and refuse to take serious action."
Thank you to
@halfon4harlowMP
for raising the inaction of
@BristolUni
in Parliament.
@BristolJsoc
Both
@AJ_Solomon1
and I are here (on Twitter!) to represent and listen to Jewish students in Bristol.
If you have any concerns or want to chat please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Bristol J-Soc and
@UJS_UK
, are working hard to ensure
@BristolUni
is held to account and that Jewish students are listened to. As your elected representatives, we are here for you! If you have any questions or concerns, please do get in touch! Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!
I’m very excited to be heading to Jerusalem today to attend this event with global Jewish leaders and role models speaking including
@deborahlipstadt
and
@FleurHassanN
.
@mikekatz
@BristolJsoc
@BristolUni
@UJS_UK
Thank you so much, but I am only one student representing hundreds as well as a whole committee that makes this JSoc what it is.
Time after time we hear ‘words have consequences’. Let’s hope Bristol Uni hear it too.
A special thank you goes to the incredible
@JackLubner
,
@emily_spungin
, Josh Cohen and the rest of the campaign team across the UK and Ireland that made this possible 💙
It’s time Jewish students began to count within
@nusuk
. Thank you to
@ninafreedman1
for having written this letter now signed by 1000+ students and allies.
@Bristol_SU
stand up for your Jewish students and sign this letter in solidarity against antisemitism.
Over 500 (and growing) Jewish students and allies have signed a letter to
@nusuk
and
@nusconnect
Board expressing their concern over comments made by the NUS president-elect and failings of NUS. Jewish students are raising their voices. It’s time to act!
Another protest in Bristol today... this time in support of Prof. Miller.
Was great to be interviewed by
@bbcrb
and
@SimsonPete
about the protest. Hear my thoughts below:
To intimidate a student journalist who supports IHRA with a conspiratorial attack further:
1) Proves the need for Universities to ensure adoption and enforcement of IHRA to protect Jewish student welfare;
It's the perfect murder in some ways. Target someone whose views on IHRA you don't like, get access to 'editing' campus news & publishing it,write fake news report, then get another person to write vicious personal attack. It's also, in a nutshell, in form of petty campus drama
Her comments diminish the importance of the Jewish community’s tireless efforts to live in a society free from antisemitism. I won’t be supporting a politician who makes baseless claims of antisemitism for their own political purposes.
Proud to have signed this letter in today's Guardian showing the importance of the IHRA definition of antisemitism in protecting Jewish students on campus.
@jrosentweets
Wakeford’s defection is a vote of confidence in Starmer’s leadership credentials and his work to rid Labour of antisemitism. I trust Christian wouldn’t join a Labour Party which didn’t take antisemitism seriously.
I’ve posted a video from when I went to Poland, singing Vehi She’amda, a song of hope.
It is this hope that Emanuel had which ensured we could learn about the Holocaust, lessons which we must hope are able to ensure such atrocities are never to be seen again.
This statement provides a clear message to the new government, racism and homophobia will not be justified in the name of the Jewish people. I’m looking forward to hearing how discussions led by
@UJS_UK
with representatives on these issues progress.
Bristol JSoc is disgusted to see a significant rise in antisemitic abuse directed both at Jewish students and the wider British Jewish community as a result of increased hostilities in the Middle East.
.
@AmandaBoDVP
&
@Daniel_Sugarman
, alongside Deputies from Bristol's Park Row Synagogue and the BWPJC, Bristol JSoc President
@isaacs_edward
and
@UJS_UK
Sabbatical Officer Amanda Sefton, were pleased to meet
@ThangamMP
to discuss a number of key issues for the Jewish community
Today, I’ve written in
@thetimes
calling for the proscription of the IRGC in the name of Jewish student welfare.
Jewish students must be able to study free from the IRGC’s antisemitic hatred that has no place in our society.
They hid the evidence in milk churns and tin boxes.
Most significantly, they had faith that the evidence would one day be found to teach the world the lessons of the Holocaust.
Years later, Holocaust survivors led the way to finding Emanuel’s evidence.
Bristol JSoc are excited to welcome Neil Wigan OBE the British Ambassador to Israel to give a talk followed by Q&A
Monday 22nd March 2021!

2) Shows these individuals lack academic integrity- academia requires evidence based analysis, of which this conspiratorial attack is deeply lacking.
@Cambridge_JSoc
It was also awesome to see
@Joel_Azulay
’s campaign get a huge amount of support too. Jewish students are so lucky to have Joel Azulay and Jewish student life is already better off due to his incredible work.
