Tomorrow, Israel, an illegal colonial settlement state will rule whether #SheikhJarrah 's indigenous Palestinian residents should be expelled for not paying rent. Imagine being asked to pay rent to your occupier. This isn't a legal dispute, it's ethnic cleansing.

Did you know the Ottoman Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent sent at least three fleets to India to defend its Muslims against the Portuguese invaders? First fleet landed in Diu (Gujrat) in 1531 with 2,000 Ottoman soldiers. Result? An Ottoman victory.

Astrolabe was created by Greeks, but it was perfected by islamic scientists, particularly women. Mariam al-Astrulabi was a Syrian astrolabe maker from the 10th century. She's known for perfecting the art of making these which calculated the altitude of celestial bodies in the sky

Did you know Iqbal's book 'Payam-e-Mashriq' is closely connected to Goethe's 'West-ostlicher Diwan' (West-Eastern Diwan) which itself was greatly inspired by the Diwan of Hafiz? Goethe had looked to the East for spiritual salvation for It's obsession with materialism.

Conversely, the Mughal Emperor Akbar allied with the Persian Safavids (and even the Portuguese) to attack the Ottomans in Yemen. Why? Apparently Akbar wanted the title of Caliph for himself, and so began to call himself the Caliph of all the Muslims in India.

@intlibecosoc @dialectichiphop The Chinese in fact imported Persian scientists to their capitals to learn from Islamic scientists, in order to build observatories and design the Chinese calendar system! Mayans, highly independent and unique in their method!
