At 5:52 you say "that's not a f***ing hit ever in any league anywhere." HitTrax shows us otherwise. In MLB in 2023, batters hit .769 on balls with characteristics (EV, LA, distance) like those of that one... but it's not surprising that you wouldn't know what's going on in MLB.
The Yankees are the best team in the league, check this out.
Record: 17-6 (1st in MLB)
HR: 32 (1st in MLB)
wRC+: 122 (1st in MLB)
ERA: 2.69 (1st in AL)
SLG: .420 (1st in AL)
Runs: 109 (1st in AL)
fWAR (pitchers): 3.9 (1st in AL)
fWAR (batters): 4.9 (1st in AL)
This is good.
Stroman has been pretty consistent as the first guy out of the dugout and not only do I love that, I don't feel like it's something I often see from pitchers. He's won me over.

-Sevy hurt or bad all year
-Rodon hurt or bad all year
-DJ bad all year
-Stanton hurt or bad most of the year
-Judge hurt much of the year
-Loaisiga hurt most of the year
-German bad, gone after July
-Cabrera nothing offensively
-Peraza nothing offensively
-Volpe almost nothing…
A potential alignment for the Yankees on Tuesday...
C: Trevino
1B: Rizzo
2B: Gleyber
SS: Peraza (I know)
3B: JD
LF: Oswaldo
CF: Bader
RF: Judge
DH: Stanton
This is getting fun.
Gary Sanchez has hit 138 homers in his first 538 games with the Yankees. That's more than anyone in their first 538 games with the franchise except Ruth, Maris, Judge, and A-Rod

Everyone: WHAT ARE THEY PAYING DILLON LAWSON TO DO??????
I’m sorry, but this is downright embarrassing. Every single game is the same story. I don’t care what the division lead is, this is some of the most abysmal baseball I’ve ever seen from this team.
It is really disappointing that people are essentially exonerating Trevor Bauer over a four minute video sharing completely unverified evidentiary claims, all of which are circumstantial, and are ignoring the fact that an insurance company gave this woman a $300,000 payout.
If DJ LeMahieu continues to hit for a 116 wRC+, which is what he's done since July 4, that will be very nice.
If Giancarlo Stanton continues to hit for a 131 wRC+, which is what he's done since June 25, that will be very nice.
If Anthony Rizzo continues to hit for a 36 wRC+,…
There’s only one reason for Cashman to be this angry and only one reason for him and Steinbrenner to speak separately and have drastically different tones: there is a huge divide in the front office right now between Steinbrenner/Levine and Cashman, and Cashman is feeling an…
Gerrit Cole in the 5 starts after his April Detroit meltdown: 5-0, 1.67 ERA
Gerrit Cole in the 7 starts after his June Minnesota meltdown: 5-2. 2.14 ERA
Gerrit Cole is about to go on a run and I hope you’re all still on board the Cole Train to appreciate it.
The offer the Yankees made to Yamamoto would've given him the second richest pitcher contract in MLB history. He has never thrown a pitch in Major League Baseball. They got outbid. To act like offering him 10/300 shows that they aren't adequately invested in winning is dumb.
Because apparently this is in question...
The ALE is the only division with 4 teams at .500 or better. It has the highest cumulative winning percentage in MLB. It is the only division with a cumulative winning percentage over .500 without its first place team.
What Gleyber Torres did offensively last year is actually kind of insane. His walk rate increased by 47%, his strikeout rate decreased by 35%, and he maintained basically the same slugging percentage (.451 to .453) YOY despite clearly prioritizing contact.
Trey Sweeney is almost a year older than Jorbit Vivas, has not played a game above AA (Vivas has), and was worse in AA last year than Vivas was.
I know a lot of people liked and were excited about Sweeney, but this isn't crazy to me.
@TalkinBaseball_
It is extremely easy to forget that when Odor punched Bautista, Bautista was coming off 6 straight ASG appearances and Rougie had just turned 22.

@MaxMannis
Padilla would throw at guys when they were teammates in Texas, and when those teams retaliated they’d throw at Teixeira. Teixeira got mad because he felt like Padilla kept getting him hit.
The issue isn’t that they don’t have Jordan Montgomery or Joey Gallo or whoever. It’s that every single guy on this team decided to play poorly at the same exact time.
There is no conceivable way Shohei Ohtani, who is about to make an ungodly amount of money no matter where he signs and has infinite star power, chooses to move from
Southern California to reside in Boston, Massachusetts.
Jake in 2023: the Yankees need to be like Toronto and add lefty contact bats and defense
The Yankees in the offseason: add Alex Verdugo, Trent Grisham, and JUAN SOTO
Jake that same offseason: the Yankees learned nothing from last year
What???
As I leave Tampa, I wanted to take a minute away from the Gerrit Cole injury discussion for a personal post. This is my fourth time coming down to Florida for Spring Training with my dad, but definitely the most memorable one. In December, my dad suffered a cardiac arrest while…
“Gleyber is bad"
“Ok what’s bad about Gleyber"
“I actually don’t have an argument about what’s bad about Gleyber, I just decided I don’t like him"
Every. Single. Time.
Can we stop calling the postseason a crapshoot and just acknowledge that many of the best teams in baseball choked in important moments this fall even with the advantages that the system provided to them? I don’t think we should take away from what the Diamondbacks accomplished.
I must clarify something about djl, his effort is 100% 100% of the time, I can live with his disappointments currently, I'm not saying I like them but it is what it is, the guy puts on the Yankee uniform and wears it with pride
Nope. Rizzo is a smart player and always makes the right play. The only guy on the Yankees who ever makes a defensive mistake is Gleyber Torres.
Am I doing this right
Not even gonna lie I’ve felt much happier in my life since Soto. Like I’m not even thinking about it 24/7 I think it’s just a subconscious happiness I’ve gotten
Willie Randolph, Ron Guidry, and Sparky Lyle had words of praise for Volpe last night
“As a matter of fact, I think Anthony is more polished than Jeter was at the same time,” -Randolph
Do you agree?
Couple of thoughts
1. Anthony Volpe BABIP luck when?
2. I love Gleyber Torres
3. G has been good recently
4. That game is why batting average is stupid
The people who believe that the Yankees should have been willing to pay any price for Yamamoto are the same ones who would call him a bust and ridicule the front office if he signed with the Yankees and underperformed relative to his salary.
Many people insisted that the Yankees should trade Anthony Volpe and Jasson Dominguez for Bryan Reynolds (before his extension).
Volpe + Dominguez: 2.2 fWAR in 634 PA, 11 remaining years of team control
Reynolds: 2.3 fWAR in 640 PA
🤔
“The Yankees are too bought into analytics” is an absolutely impossible statement to make when they’re running this lineup out. This is a Stengel-esque (at best) employment of platoon splits, and gives IKF the most plate appearances. Analytics would never tell you to do this.
In Juan Soto's worst full season of MLB, he posted a 143 wRC+. His career wRC+ is 154.
In Kyle Tucker's best full season of MLB, he posted a 146 wRC+. His career wRC+ is 132.
Kyle Tucker is a terrific, absolutely terrific, baseball player. He is not the hitter Juan Soto is.
Kyle Higashioka, for all his defensive prowess, has been worth -.1 fWAR and Gary Sanchez has been worth .5 fWAR. The Yankees would be a better team with Gary and Trevino.
I don't usually do this...
Someone reached out to me. The Yankees are enthralled with Masahiro Tanaka. Their scouts say that he'd be the perfect top of the rotation arm to add and he has the dog in him, according to multiple reports.
