North bias here but can’t understand why people are speaking as if Horne-Francis is an absolute lock to go back to SA at some point in his career. It’s a one hour flight from Melbourne and there are loads of examples of SA-raised players staying in Victoria and vice versa. #nmfc

A few thoughts on my club: 1. There is a seriously development problem in the club and there seems to just be an acceptance of the fact players we draft don’t make the grade. Development has been disgraceful and it has transcended senior coaches.

Said it a few times: McKay isn’t an Alastair Clarkson prototypical defender. He’s too big, slow and not a good enough kick. An excellent intercept mark but they’re a dime a dozen these days. Logue (195cm) and Corr (195cm) are Clarko-like players.

Firming on the idea of drafting Dan Curtin. Atypical Clarkson defender - quick, big enough without being huge (i.e. 200cm), excellent disposal, good interceptor and will be able to play on gorilla forwards in future.
