We already have Wildcard positions in the AFL. It’s 5th to 8th. We just call them elimination finals. Two teams (WB 2016 & ADL 1998) have won from the flag from outside the four since we went to a top-eight in the mid 90s. No need to reward further mediocrity. #AFLFinals

I don’t understand the debate around Australian selectors devaluing the Sheffield Shield? Debate specialist positions, sure. But Green averages significantly more (15 runs 54 vs 39) than Bancroft in Shield cricket. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy if Bancroft isn’t picked.
