Remembering Our Rocky (Col. Rock III)
It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our beloved retired mascot, Col. Rock III. Rocky passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2021. Rocky charmed people with his winning personality, tricks and Bulldog smile.
Today, we pay tribute to 1939 WIU Alumnus and Purple Heart recipient John Moon, who, at age 103, is the oldest known living Iwo Jima survivor. We are so proud to call this outstanding man a member of our

Today WIU's Thompson Hall RAs Joshua Smith and Marcus Sweeten received letters of commendation for their quick action in response to the Sept. 15 incident. They administered life-saving first aid to the victim until first responders arrived. .
